We have a good chance to start 4 sophomores and a sr. Or possibly 1 frosh, 3 soph, and a sr.

That is awesome in my eyes. They all played a ton last year and will only get better. (Minus Spangler) and he knows how to play and has been around for 2 years.
Hopefully by the end of these guys run, opposing coaches think they have been around forever.

No matter what OU only has two seniors on the team. If OU can compete this year, they should be pretty good the next couple of years.

One thing about Spangler. He is 22. Not a kid. And I really think that at least 2 recruits from this class need to be next season 8 man rotation good. We have a lot of good athletes and young talent. More than we have had in years. But, we are still some bit away.

Kruger has laid a good foundation and we are in a good place. But, he has to keep layering in a couple of good players every year for the next couple of years to get the program back to where it was once was.

Agree 100%. We need a couple kids to come in and be able to help. I know Burford can do that. I think a good slashing/scorer off the bench will help a ton. I wish we could get a flat out shooter, i dont care if its Tim Hesketts son!

I completely agree. I think we need a combo forward to replace Cam, which I think Buford or Cunningham would be perfect for. Also I would like the other person to be mixed in with our post rotation or a knock down perimeter shooter. I'm not sold on Hamilton, and McNease seems to be about 3 years from being a legitimate Big12 player. So maybe a shooter in the late signing period, and Solomon or Lattin could fill the post void.

Mcnease I dont think is 3 years away. He'll probably be a top 150 player and a 4* with his senior season. Not saying he is a immed impact guy, but he can play.

Lattin isnt coming. I think he is done deal to Fexas. Solomon's Parents are going to be a problem.

Hopefully you're right about McNease. When I said the 3 years I was including his HS year, so I expect him to be ready to contribute by his sophomore year. From what I've been reading it seems like Lattin is leaning towards OU, but of course those articles and predictions could be wrong. I agree with Solomon, I think parents might be to big to overcome.

Ok I'm with you. I hope you right about Lattin. His twitter seems to be pro-texas at times.

I know they are different sports, but maybe us putting a beat down on them tomorrow, coupled with the pre-season projection of 8th in the Big 12 will sway him. Plus Barnes prolly wont be his coach next year so that could help also

Do you really think Barnes could be out the door with Mack after this season? I have never been in the Rick Barnes is a great coach corner. He has recruited well, but more often than not he has underachieved with the talent he brought in.

Still, I doubt if the UT brass are ready to give up on him just yet. My guess is he has another year or two before he's in the same boat Mack is in now. Then again, I could be wrong. The folks at Fexas may be so fed up with underachievers, they're ready to clean house and start over with a fresh, clean slate.

With the whorns getting a new AD and football coach, I think the only way Barnes keeps his job is a top 2 or 3 finish in the Big 12, and it may have to be higher than that. I just don't see that happening at all. Mack has a NC and runner-up finish and Barnes, although pretty successful a few years ago isn't close to matching that success. I think his days are few.

With a new AD coming in I see no way he survives another year in the bottom third of the conference

Yeah, you may be right. With the head of the "good ol' boys club," Deloss Dodd, gone after this season, I certainly don't rule that out as a possibility.

Back on topic (sorry about hijacking your thread, coach), it's easy to forget that this is a very young team made up mainly of underclassmen, most of them with three or more years left to play. One has to think that we're in great shape for the future, especially in our backcourt. I really like this group of guards and wings. The only thing we may be missing is a scoring wing who is capable of shooting a high percentage from three.

I added the word "may," because I still believe Booker is capable of knocking down shots from behind the arc on a consistent basis. He had that reputation in high school, so there is no reason to believe he can't do it at this level when he adjusts to the speed of the college game and gets his confidence back. Bring in a Dante Buford and/or a Josh Cunningham and we'd be set for the next three years and beyond.

And, when you think about it, we've got a pretty solid base in our front court for the next two years. Bennett and Hamilton are juniors, Spangler is a sophomore, and all three are older players with experience. I would love to see our coaches sign a scoring wing in the 2014 class. But, to me, signing an impact big or two in that class is a must. I'm hoping we have no fewer than two (McNeace and at least one more) bigs on our roster next year, who can gain some valuable experience while our current group of posts players are still around.
