Holy Crap, I am not kidding you. HE IS RETIRING effective immediately. Supposedly not health related. Offensive Coordinator Lincoln Riley will take over.

Actually, 2018 recruit OL Brey Walker says he's still committed to OU.

Do you have to work at being an A-hole or does it come naturally for you? Seems to me Baylor fans have enough to worry about without sticking their nose into OU's business.

Seems like the Stoops retirement is taking its toll on some folks on here. Far as some players leaving..some may but on the other hand some may decide to come to OU with the younger blood at the helm?? Sometimes a change can spark new life into a program. Bob did a dang good overall job while here, had OU in the hunt many times but there are other good programs out there.

Lincoln Riley will still call plays. Maybe we see Cale Gundy get an OC title and upgrade in pay. Possibly see a QB coach be hired or another offensive assistant.

This late in the season it may be too late for Riley to get the QB/OC coach he wants. If goes after a top QB coach that is already signed to coach elsewhere that school may hold him to his contract.

Also if he abandoned the team he signed to coach in 2017 and left he might not be displaying the kind of loyalty to his team that is normally expected by top coaches. But who knows.

For the new assistant coach I will bet Lincoln hires a great recruiter...someone like Chip Viney...and may easily be on the defensive side. Lincoln will still be the QB coach and be the primary QB recruiter but to help Lincoln with film and X and Os do what TCU did; hire an experienced coach that doesn't necessarily want to recruit anymore...Patterson did that and hired Sonny Dykes as a quality control guy to help with the QBs.

Exactly the point I made earlier. I have always welcomed fans from other schools who want to be part of the discussions on this or any other forum...unless they're obviously here to "stir the pot", as "gotmulk ??" appears to be.

Too bad he wasn't smart enough to realize admins here can still read a deleted post. But, since he was wise enough to try to take back what he said, I decided to give him another chance.
