I didn't want Kelvin gone, and I'd love to have him back. I can do without those in the administration who didn't support him.Very true! The offense was boring, boring, boring. Never mind that the defense was exceptional.

Can you not just support the great coach we have now who has assembled a potentially top-10 team this season??? :facepalm
Maybe I missed something, and I'm no fan of sybarite by any means, however I don't think he said he didn't support Kruger.
I support Kruger just as much as I supported Kelvin, Billy, Dave and tried to support Capel, because Kruger is our coach.
Read his men's post history...
Dude would give a kidney for queen Sherri but hardly says a decent word about Kruger, Henson and the rest of the men's crew.
I liked Kelvin. And I like Kruger.

I can tell you that I supported the team while Sampson was there, but Sampson had a lot of relational issues that caused some of the administration to not like him. As being part of Kelvin's crew for a year ( quit because of Sampson) and his interaction and no showing with the business college events he agreed ( or maybe was told) to attend. I know at least when I was in the business college they stopped advertising anything that with men's basketball. The Deans in business college were not happy. Again this may have been isolated.
I say that no to diminish his ability or the job he did as it was excellent, but I think their was issues on campus before he got in NCAA trouble.
I will also vouch for this. That is correct. Kelvin was wearing thin on a lot of people before well before he got the program on probation.
Sampson did great things for the basketball program at OU. Then, as soon as he's accused of sending too many texts to recruits, some (possibly many) Sooner fans wanted him gone and were ready to send him to the gallows. I simply don't understand it. I'm sorry an OU coach broke an NCAA rule, but I can't let that one incident change my entire attitude about what he did to make OU a great basketball program in the late 90s-early 2000s.
I will also vouch for this.
And you could've set your watch for how this thread has played out.
You're right, 04; and I could kick myself for falling into that trap, because I truly know better.
By the way, I wouldn't trade Kruger for any other coach in the profession.
But when he retires, I would take Tom Izzo.

I have no idea what is going to happen with Thomas, but Vbdad seems to be right on with most of his information. Also, I could care less whether Kelvin wins or loses at Houston. His ship sailed a long time ago and everyone should remember he chose to cheat at OU and then repeated it at IU.
So did Switzer. You not talk nice about him either? Or how about AD with all the crap he has pulled? The Boz? Hate them all, right?
