Sounds like a huge step down to go from TCU going into the Big 12 and taking the job with the BobCats.
Doesn't say much for the state of TCU basketball. Perhaps TCU was going to look for a bigger name anyway with the uptick in competition.

If a guy wants job security, he goes where he thinks he can win. Take Patterson, his name comes up for every job but he never goes because he knows he can go 6-6 or 5-7 at TCU and nobody is going to fire him. If the TCU coach thinks he is going to be 12-18 in the Big 12 at TCU and 22-8 at Ohio, it makes sense to go to Ohio. Hey, I think playing Texas, Baylor, KU, WVU, KSU, and ISU is not going to be easy. I also think it won't be long until OU is back in the fray.

Ohio has some good stuff going in both football and basketball recently. Nice programs winning lots of games.

Ohio can probably pay more. 40,000 students vs 9500 at TCU. If it's less pressure and more pay, some folks will jump.
