Tiny and TMG grade out at F

Thanks for sharing. That was a fun article to read; it shows the mentality that Capel had to work with last season. I hope that Capel going after the types of kids that WW, TMG, and Tiny is now seen as a exciting experiment that went bad. Let's bring in the kid who is a good player, has some upside, and genuinely wants the college experience.

Putting questions about any choice they had aside, I think most of us agree that all three of these players made poor decisions in opting to come out after last season. I feel bad for Willie. He could have been a high first round pick the previous year. But he made his bed and now he has to sleep in it. Best of luck to him!

If the NBA drafts on potential, I can see Tiny getting a shot with someone going the free agent route. He has unique skills for a guy his size. But if that scum bag agent was responsible for forcing him out early, he should be ashamed of himself. Tiny is nowhere near ready for the NBA. I don't know what to think about TMG. I'm still shaking my head over his decision.

As for the article, I think WW and Tiny were rated a little low. TMG was spot on.

Willie gets a chance in the NBA - role player/bench player. Willie may evolve into a decent/nice NBA Player - he needs to work the area between the ears first! Tiny will be NBDL talent for a couple/few years, but may mature into a solid power forward - he just is not ready. Tiny needs also needs to work the area between the ears. TMG - like stated here and many times before - "WTF"? This kid has mad College Basketball Talent, but he needs alot more time to work on finding ways to better is talent. I am not sure - maybe Europe for him? These are my thoughts and my thoughts do not always sit well with many on this board.

Regardless I wish all of these young men the best.

What a classic, "maybe I should have listened to Coach more," moment.

That's 34 early declares. So how many seniors are expected to be drafted and how many foreigners?

Are these only guys with agents? How come guys like Avery Bradley, Jordon Hamilton and the other Kentucky guys like Daniel Orten and Eric Bledsoe weren't mentioned.

The writer refers to those guys escaping "Oklahoma's issues" and OU being a mess as if those three players didn't play key roles in creating that mess. That story does us no favors whatsoever.

Giving Tiny and TMG an F may have been a little harsh. I would have given them a D-. Since all 3 of those guys don't play any defense and they are not great outside shooters it's unlikely any of them will make an active NBA roster. A team may take a chance on Tiny or Willie and send them down to play in the D league as the Rockets did with Joey Dorsey. If I were those guys, I would buy a copy of Rosetta Stone and brush up on my foreign language skills.

Its ESPN, they always find ways to hate on OU

Little harsh? They deserve F+'s...

That's sad.. I will cheer for ww and gallon to make it but I don't have similar feelings for TMG.. I'm not a fan of his

That is exactly why I think the recruiting job Capel has done this spring is so amazing.

That's an excellent point. TMG wasn't given any responsibility for the mess by ESPN, and he was at the root of it. This is just one of the many reasons I am losing all respect for ESPN.
