Did we offer him? He just had a triple double. His team is undefeated. His dad played at OU. Is strong better than him?

I think the belief is that he wasn't quite good enough for OU. We would have rather used the scholarship on a guy who is more likely to contribute immediately, and then have a scholarship open to take a more skilled guy next year.

It's not like anybody else was really in on the kid. So if he makes us regret not offering, at least we weren't the only ones.

No, we can't look at it that way. If he turns out to be a great player, OU will take the most heat and that's how it should be. I know this example is extreme, but it technically applies. When Stephen Curry became a superstar at Davidson, which college took the most heat for not offering him a scholarship? No big programs offered him one, but only one had egg on their faces - Virginia Tech (his dad was a star there)...and it may have been the main reason their head coach is now working for ESPN.

He is committed to Old Dominion who plays in Conference USA. Their star guard, Trey Freeman, is graduating so Evans should have a shot to step in and earn playing time if he is the real deal.

Trey was released from OD due to family reasons.

Trey was committed to OSU without and offer from the current staff (ast left)

No offer by OU.

I know OSU was in on him earlier but don't know what happened with that.

As for other big schools not in on him, same thing could have been said about Spangler. And we have been missing out on a bunch of Oklahoma kids who have been doing good at other small colleges.

There is just a lot to like about this kid. He's leading an undefeated team. He's a coaches son. His dad played at OU. We don't have much depth at point guard. And the only point guard we have coming in is a juco pg and jucos have not been doing great for us. He seems like he would be a good backup pg to Woodard next year.

Isn't Missouri recruiting him?

OU is looking for a top flight PG in next years class. Not a mid major PG. I like his game, but not on OU level.

Not sure, havent followed his recruitment much.

Tre has had a break out year and is getting interest from big 12 and sec schools from what I read.

the majority of Kruger recruits have been mid majors. Strong is most likely a mid major recruit.

And Woodard is a senior next year so even if we land a top flight pg we don't have a solid pg.

Lol. Krugers have been mid majors?

Can he get an academic scholarship? If so, if Terry wants, he can go that way to OU. Then, we hold our last schollie for Bolden.

Then next year, full court press for Trae Young giving us a potential backcourt of Tre and Trae hitting treys.

Mid major recruits?

Besides Cole, walker and maybe jamuni, who else is less than a 3-star recruit without other power 5 offers?

I wish Evans would just walk on for a season and see what happens, but I obviously don't blame him for saying f you either.

Jamuni had an offer from Utah which is a power 5

You guys wanting Evans.... Have you seen him?

Thanks, Max.

I figured he had some other p5 offers, I just couldn't remember.

i think it's safe to assume that when you have Ou, Utah, et al offers, you aren't exactly a mid major recruit.

How about all the juco players he has brought in that rarely play.

every player cant be an all conf player. there are guys brought into every school that rarely get to play. Its called being part of the team.

Walker has served his purpose and has done a decent job. AK will serve his purpose next year. Strong is a backup PG, he will serve his purpose

If you had 13 stars who all thought they will start, youll have a ton of transfers and unhappy folks.

Your continued knock on Kruger is comical.

They've been guys that needed to develop. Juco players that hardly play. Manyang who many thought would start going into the season doesn't even see the floor.

I would much rather take Evans who just got a triple double and is on an undefeated team over another juco guard in Strong.
