on the road at East Carolina. They are now 7-0 in the American Conference. It's crazy to think that our win against Tulsa is our 2nd best win OOC....who would've thought?

Tulsa's guard play has been superb. Woodard, Smith and Harrison are having a great season.

Here's an interesting tidbit. Ten of the fourteen players on TU's roster are listed as guards. That seems to defy the old saying that you can't have enough guards. lol

They were very lucky to pull out the win although it was a road game. East Carolina is a poor team but they made 12 three pointers w/one player making 6 of 9. They, Carolina, also used a zone to force Tulsa to shoot from the outside which is clearly not their forte as they like to get to the basket even w/a guard oriented lineup.

Frank Haith has done a good job with them.

They really struggled to begin the season. You have to believe they would beat ORU and Southeastern Oklahoma State if they played them again now. That would have put them at 16-3 instead of 14-5.

It'll be interesting to see if they can do enough to make the Dance, even if they don't get the AAC's auto bid.

If they go undefeated (highly unlikely) they will probably get an automatic bid.

The auto bid is probably tied to the conference tourney. So in theory, they could go undefeated thru the regular season, slip up in the tourney, and be at the mercy of the selection committee. Gotta think an undefeated reg season would get them in, just not sure how many losses they can afford and still be sitting pretty.

They're currently #47 in RPI, so they would have a fighting chance.

But they can't afford any slip-ups against the dregs of the AAC, so it's a good thing they pulled out that East Carolina game.

SMU (#19) is the biggest RPI scalp to be had in the AAC, so it would be huge if Tulsa could somehow sweep them.

TU's Harrison has some amazing drives and moves to the basket. Some of the most acrobatic I have seen, AND he makes the baskets. They are getting good minutes from their bench also.

They are going through the exact thing that OU has gone through. While OU has played almost all the top big xii ranked teams early on, Tulsa has avoided all the top AAC games. They still have 2 left against SMU, at UCONN, at Memphis, Cincy and 2 against Tulane who seem to be a similar team.
