Tyler Neal in OU's last three games

If his rebounding is lucky (just fall into his hands), OU has some very unlucky rebounders on its teams. Personally, I don't think that is a very fair comment. If he gets the rebound, he gets the rebound. Over the same three games Fitzgerald is averaging 4 rebounds per game in substantially more minutes. Why can't Fitzgerald get non-physical rebounds?

I don't see why you think its not a very fair comment....just because I didn't compare him to other players? Fitz is a horrible rebounder...hopefully he will improve on that. Other than Washington, our best rebounders are all guards.

knowing what i know about Fitz and Pledger and how they performed this year...do I think they should have gotten more minutes last season?!?! The answer is no. They got better from year 1 to year 2 not b/c they got 30 min. a game as freshman but b/c of their hard work in the offseason. The same goes for Neal. Increasing his minutes isn't going to help him out this year or help this team out this year.

I like this kid a lot..but I don't watch games w/ beer goggles. I can see what he does well and what he doesn't. W/ his size and his ability to take it to the rim or step outside and shoot it...His career here should be memorable. But I watch the games, and he is by no means a liability being on the court, but his minutes that he gets is good enough for his freshman year...Unless he becomes a better defender and rebounder. He also gets lost out there at times and loses track of his man. He will be better next year but for now I just enjoy watching this kid and seeing a glimpse of what he will become.

He is still not a good defender, but he isn't a bad defender. like abd said, you don't notice it as a huge flaw he just gets beat in the post sometimes. I think he is playing better and better. He is a player that could become very good by the time he is an upper classman. He is already contributing earlier than I thought he would.

I think the fact he gets the rebounds speaks more to his IQ or basketball IQ. He has an idea of where the ball is going to be if it comes off the rim, and that is something that's a positive.

I would also say Fitz either doesn't have the IQ, or he's getting pushed too far under the basket and doesn't have the strength in his core or hips to get a body on somebody and push them back. Or, he's just not trying to block out.

someone needs to take T-Neal's roster pic and do a little photoshopping to make it look like this:

I just think he has shown an abilityto rebound at fairly descent level. I don't really disagree that his defense needs to improve or anything else you say other than suggesting his rebounding is simply the ball falling into his hands. I am just not a fan of luck as an explanation for numbers.

i blame you OUHOOPS!! did you knock on wood so Neal would have another good game?? didnt think so...
