A little surprised no Iwukor or Kuath in 2nd half, considering the run they delivered

Yeah odd.

But lon does odd things in early season games to learn about his players

Are we arguing about when Bieniemy extended his arm? That was a flop AND a foul. They're always going to call an arm extension that overt, even if there's no way he knocked the guy over. Really dumb move by Jamal.

They got every call down the stretch and we had a couple of boneheaded mistakes, but the guys got it done -- great win.

Is it time to take the scholarships away from Kur and Williams? Those dudes clearly will never contribute anything meaningful against good opponents. :)

Outstanding win, and a great two-game trip. The difference in athletic ability compared to recent seasons is glaring, and the four established guys (Reaves counts as part of this group because he is as established as anyone we have) all have been outstanding. Let's keep it rolling!

Whoooooo that got a bit spicy at the end, but if you would’ve told me before the game that we would win by 8, I’d take it a billion times over!

SO many positives. I really hope this team can continue to build and improve instead of regressing like the last two seasons.

Agree. I think he was creating space to kick ahead. But sold the flop. Extended arm us automatic. Especially late

It always seems to get tougher once conference play starts. But this team looks real solid.

Yes.

It was the biggest flop of the night. Guy throws his hands in the air and jumps back.

This right here....literally no dropoff on the defensive end when 2nd-teamers come in.

This is somewhat of the concept that '04 was referring to when he posted in some earlier threads. I don't agree with his transfer philosophy at all, but I do agree that we needed quality, talented depth at least through the 8/9 rotation on the bench. It can be tough to manage, but that is how teams like Virginia and Nova are so damn competitive every year. Hopefully, we have turned the corner on this and can display that type of depth.

Loved that second half (barring parts of the last few minutes). Two really solid second halves in a row in basically road environments against pretty decent opposition.

True ... except he was the guy who specifically said he didn't expect Kur and Williams to give us anything of value this season. To be fair, he did say that he would love to be wrong. Hopefully those guys will keep this up consistently enough to make him come around.

'04 is likely suffering from "battered fan JC expectation syndrome"....which, if you were a fan like me around the late 80s/early 90s, I can totally understand. It seemed like Tubbs was batting .750 for every JC guy he brought in and actually contributed. But in the last 10-15 years....we have just whiffed on these players (pretty much since Aaron McGhee).

I will say that Williams looks like "the truth" off the bench. He isn't afraid of the moment and will play his game. Plus he had an incredibly sick finish in the 2nd half that should have been an "and one". I'm very encouraged by what I've seen thus far.

ou wins 77-69 over oregon state. harmon did not look too good witj no pts. totally out of it. Doo,reaves, bienemy and hill were excellent tonifgr team looks deep, good D,and finally some decent shooters.

I didn't know what to expect out of this team, and I wasn't expecting a great deal. Seemed that we lost the ability to play as a team when Buddy left.

I was shocked. This was outstanding play. They appear to be missing one element, the dominant post. But, they have so many athletes that it isn't all that obvious. What they do well it to exert effort all the time. They moved well, passed well, worked hard on defense, and never seemed to take a play off.

Well, there was some apparent fatigue in the last five minutes, and, yes, Bieniemy did push off, and it was all his fault. I think he looked tired, got trapped, didn't think, and screwed up. Other than that, he played well. Entitled to one bonehead play after they had forced Oregon State into several. They really looked inexperienced at the end. So, they got some experience.

This team could be fun, regardless of how they finish. I think they are better than I had thought they might possibly be, and probably better than anyone realizes just yet.

Looked very good in second half, Defense stayed solid the whole game, Doolittle is awesome, love watching him.
