What do you see as OU's weakness on this team?

A short bench/lack of bench production (scoring) just doesn't seem like something this team or its fans should be worrying about at this point.

Lon basically uses four players off the bench, and in this order: Walker, Lattin, Booker and Bennett (sometimes Lattin is first off the bench). All four provide what Kruger wants from them – quality minutes and valuable rest for his starters. Lon isn't necessarily looking for a lot of scoring from these nonstarters, though at least three of them are capable of scoring. What's important to me is that our offensive production doesn't tend to fall dramatically when one or two of these guys are in the game. That's because we've still got at least three, and usually four, players on the floor that CAN score. All four of the players coming off the bench do provide at least adequate defense and energy. Also, the team's chemistry doesn't seem to be affected when any of them are in the game.

A nine-man rotation is plenty for any team, especially when all nine players know their roles and are seemingly content with the way they are used. So I can't see that it really matters that Lon's not getting big points from his bench. If and when one of these guys starts coming in and scoring more points than the guys they're subbing for, we'll probably see that player inserted into the starting lineup at some point.

Correct, every team's bench shortens in conference and tournament play. Yes, significant foul trouble will hurt OU, but that is no different than any other Big XII team.

All we need the second unit to do is be serviceable, i.e. defend, grab rebounds and not turn it over. If they do those three things, OU is in really good shape. This isn't the NBA where you need a second unit which has one or two guys that can score.

Good points. The bench players do provide quality minutes. I guess having Booker step his game up is really all the bench needs at this point. Hopefully his back is OK and his game will return.
