He does lose some dumb balls on simple things in the half court.

It seems when he drives to the basket that is when he loses control of the ball as opposed to just bringing the ball up court.

Rarely did Lon play 2 post. 4 out 1 in or 5 out. Never 2 post.

I know people view the intricacies of basketball "positions" differently, but somebody playing outside doesn't mean they can't be considered a big.

That's one thing I don't get about Harkless. He's a good player, but his handles have looked awful at times. Careless. Also, he seems to not be near as athletic as he used to be. He had breakaway steals where he'd just lay it in. Both of these are in contrast to some of his younger videos. He has clips out there in HS and AAU where he looked like he had point guard handles and he was throwing down some sick dunks. Looks like a completely different player. Maybe he needs to cut his hair...

Quality of competition is a big component of that. He's got good handles. Austin Reaves had great handles. Isaiah Cousins had some similar struggles early on against D-1 competition and turned out to be a pretty dang good PG. I think Harkless can improve in this area.

well, he didn't bring it up much, but that's my point..when driving ya get a little pressure. So who knows...like I said, just my 2 cents, he struggles with a little pressure.

I see the competition as Houston, then in our area KU and WSU. He was offered by them and a slew of east / se schools.

Ku/wsu/OU are the furthest "west" schools that offered.

This is the type of player we should be recruiting. If Porter can recruit players like this to OU, there’s no limit to what we can accomplish.
