Assessing the current roster situation at OU (4/24/2021)

Re: Assessing the current roster situation at OU

Why in the world would Moser even be talking to them if it didn't involve being on OU's basketball team, regardless of where they're going to be?

My skeptical meter went off when I heard about it because I thought it to be very unlikely that he would misunderstand. I had also heard harmon comes from a really good fam so thought it might be true. They might have been having a great convo and maybe he asked Harmon when he would be back in Norman? Idk but I doubt he comes here now.

Re: Assessing the current roster situation at OU

Harmon remaining at OU is still a possibility ..

Re: Assessing the current roster situation at OU

Anybody that believes Moser misunderstood what Harmon said to him is crazy. Them back tracking now and trying to make him seem like the one that was “confused” is garbage.

No way do I believe Moser misunderstood what Harmon said! This is a case of a student athlete who is making excuses for changing his mind.

Now, if he wants to say he feels betrayed that LK told him he would be at OU for at least four years before he retired, I’ll buy that. That was common knowledge when De’Vion signed his LOI.

Another question I have is did Harmon know Moser would sign a point guard in next year’s class on the heels of their conversation? If it came as a surprise, I think it’s possible that might have played a role in his decision to enter the portal. On the other hand, who could blame Moser for signing Alston Mason? We may never know the answer to all of these questions.

The transfer portal is so confusing now, something tells me it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

Maybe. But I'd have to say the odds are low after entering the draft and now the portal. How many kids do that and return to their school?

getting a damion james vibe with the harmon and bailey circus.

Re: Assessing the current roster situation at OU (4/8/2021)

Two days ago, we were all in anticipation of getting a major transfer. 48 hours later, no transfer heading our way just yet, we lose Williams, and may lose Harmon. I'm hoping there are no more shoes to drop. I posted in another thread that we're now making ESPN headlines for having 5 players in either the transfer portal or entering the NBA Draft...yay :-(.

Only 5... I am counting 7 and that does not include Kuath.

I'm just going by what ESPN reported...but you are right.

Reaves, Harmon, Manek, Williams, Iwuakor - those were the 5 that were in the rotation...guess they aren't going to bother counting anyone at the end of the bench. At this point, it's easier to count who is coming back that played this year: Harkless, Gibson, Hill.

maybe so, but without "covid" exception, 4 of the 7 exhausted their eligibility...

Reaves, Manek, Williams, Kuath

guess I don't see it as a horrible thing. When coaches change there usually is a player or two that move on as well. So the "reality" is maybe Harmon is the one "special" loss.

Just my 2 cents

I would agree, although I'm higher on Vic than most.

I'm normally pretty patient, but the wait to land some transfers is KILLING me. Ugh.

Not many guys have committed yet nationally. Lot of offers flying around, and guys are taking time to figure things out.

It honestly hasn’t even been too long. There’s still 1300 players in the portal. I expect this weekend we’ll see several players commit to places. I’m sure groves will commit by the end of the weekend, wherever that may be.

Re: Assessing the current roster situation at OU (4/8/2021)

Did I miss what happened with Soriano?

Re: Assessing the current roster situation at OU (4/8/2021)

man, if i were reaves, i would be looking at this roster and licking my chops at the amount of shots i could get up. :ez-laugh: halfway joking as i know he isn't coming back. but he could increase his chance of making an nba roster if he did.

There aren't 1,300 difference makers in the Portal, certainly not that we've had our name attached to. Most of what is in the Portal is straight crap. Some of the not-crap has already started to find landing places that aren't OU.
