What improvement are you looking for in Isaiah Cousins

Right now he is starting at the point and Jordan has moved to the 2 guard. It will be interesting to see if it continues.

That's what Gary said yesterday, too. I know you have pretty good connections......

Do you know why? I can't imagine a scenario where that makes OU better.

Although I will say this, it really doesn't matter after the first pass, b/c the 3 guards all rotate the same way within the offense.

I'm no coach, but it might be that Kruger has a very specific reason for this -- shaking up one player's approach/habits or the other -- and that it will be only temporary.

If, say, a point guard was consistently passing up too many open shots, a coach might switch him to the 2, just to jump-start his shooter's mentality. Or a shooting guard might need to focus on his handles and/or his passing.

I could be all wet, of course. It just occurs to me that there could be a method to Kruger's madness in this case, a specific objective he's pursuing, and that it will be short-lived, once it's achieved its purpose.

Or not.

You guys are over thinking this. Kruger and the staff simply think that they will win more basketball games this season with Cousins at the point. They may be right or wrong. But, they are experts and myself and fellow message board posters are not.

I've seen a bunch of seniors be better than the imaginary ceiling we set for them. Doesn't always happen but Isaiah could elevate to a 1st team B12 and a 1st rd draft pick. With him I think it's just confidence.

Absolutely. I think most of it for IC is mental. He has all the tools - physical presence, Skills, Creativity, Athleticism and Experience.

I also want to continue to see his maturity and attitude improve as it has each year. He is an emotional player - which is good - but his emotions have gotten the best of him in the past.

This! Especially if he is going to be the point guard all year.
