What improvements are you hoping out of Jordan Woodard this season?

This is reason I don't post much any more. There are a couple of know nothings that always want to take an insulting shot. My information is timely and my source solid. But, yet. I still have to endure fools.

Cousins won't play 40 minutes. Woodard and Walker are both capable of playing the point and will some. At this point in time, Cousins has made a case that he is the better option and he is the starting point guard.

I think you are reading too much into practice.

No way Woodard doesn't start at pg. If it appears he might not in practice, there is a reason for that other than that he actually isn't going to start.

You don't make an Elite 8 one year, and then start toying with stuff like this before the first game of the next season. Makes no sense. We need Cousins scoring the basketball, not setting up his teammates. As a backup pg? Sure, I have no problem with that if it's what is best for the team.

Willing to bet Woodard starts at pg on Friday.

this ... and by the way there are others of us that also watch practice .. go to scrimmages ... and know people (or play golf with people) in the program ..

Then could you please get the orange seats painted - they are terrible. Thanks.

you are also a guy that thought spangler would last a starter

no reason to rip on him, BS. The more opinions (especially informed) the better. He has also been right on quite a bit on here as well.

if he didn't call me a "know nothings" and a fool .. I would have left it alone .. he has been wrong just as much or more than he has been correct ..

so maybe his sources are not quite a solid as he thinks ..

I will grant you that he can get a little persnickety - but so can you. And so can I. :D

Woodard at the #2. He will need to play well to keep it.

This is true Jordan is starting at the two guard as of last night with Cousins running the point. I'm sure there will be times when Jordan gets the ball at the point but right now he is a wing. Apparently he is shooting it great so far in practice.

Sure hope he can hit the 3 at a high clip this year and shoot it with confidence.

Interesting and surprising. A confirmation of Garyeb's post.

I'm getting really excited to see this team in action. Cousins and Woodard swapping positions? McNease ahead of Lattin? Looking forward to seeing the new guys in action as well.

I'll say it, we aren't making a FF if we're tinkering with things this much. And I say that as somebody that trusts LK. Swapping Woodard and Cousins. Toying with starting McNeace over Lattin or Buford.

Not good signs IMO.

He has been shooting it well. in addition, when he is getting thrown the ball in a good spot he is getting his man off the bounce a getting loose for a mid range jumper that he has also been hitting.

Eh, that's what this time of the year is for. That's like saying the football season was doomed because there was a race for the quarterback spot. We knew the 5th starting spot would be up for grabs, and the competition is probably making everyone better.

Not the same. We didn't get good QB play last year.

We got pretty good play out of Woodard, Cousins, Buddy, and Spangler.

I think LK is probably doing it to keep them focused. At least, I hope he is.

This has to be considered good news, not only because it speaks to how well Woodard is shooting it, but it also speaks to Counsins's ball handling and running of the offense. Exciting! Thanks for the info, gents.

I get why you would say that with respect to the PG position; however, I don't get it with respect to McNeace. We have never seen Buford play in a college game and Lattin wasn't so impressive that no one should be considered to play in front of him.

Overreact much? Just because McNeace may start game 1 against Washburn doesn't mean that he'll be starting in March. And if he is, I'll bet it's because of how well he's playing, not how badly everyone else is playing. Finally, considering none of us has seen any games this season, unless you're going to all the practices and have the objectively critical ability to analyze each player and his role within the team construct, I'll go out on a limb and say that I trust Kruger with decisions like these more than any member of this board.

I'm certainly in no position to suggest that he's wrong if he decides to start McNeace against Washburn.
