Now that Ahmed is gone, Capel's got one to work with. Lots of options on the board, and he apparently he wants a point guard. Who ya got?

I would love to stay local, like we did with Neal, and make a run at Dominique Raney from Putnam City. Not sure if he's interested in us though. A lot of people think he wants to go East and some think he may go the prep school route.

Cezar Guerrero is a name that soonersam posted about last night who is being linked to OU. But he's also got the likes of Kentucky and Kansas after him.

Who are the top available juco point guards? What other high school options are out there?

I assume the best PG we can get, if we get another ship then a shooter.

I think you gotta go Cezar Guerrero until he he makes a decision. I think comes in right away and runs the point and moves Newell to the 2 with pledger. I don't know if there is another immediate impact PG left in the 2011 class.

Who says Cezar can step in immediately and run the point? Personally, I think we get the most game ready PG possible (probably JUCO) and go after a high profile 2012 PG as well. Don't think next year's team would benefit from a true frosh running the show.

I'm not sure why we would go after a JUCO point that would probably just come in and be a reserve. We already have that (Blair). We need to just go after the most talented player, regardless of classification.

The best PG he can get, plus the 2 best shooters he can get. It would be better if they were ready-to-play prep or juco guys instead of true freshman, so maybe go nab a couple of really good juco shooters and then get the best PG you can.

That is why I used the term "game ready PG", transcends any classification. Given the current crop of HS PGs still available, JUCO may be our best option.

In my best coach stoops voice,"we are what we are this year." So, I think this gives us the ammo to take a chance on a guy that is the most talented, period.

Raney would be my choice, too. He's a local kid who can play the one or the two. If he wants to be a Sooner, I don't see how you can go wrong with an athletic guard like him, providing he can qualify.

I don't know anything about the Raney kid, but we already have an athletic guard that can play the one or the two with Newell. If Raney is a kid that needs to be groomed at the PG position like Newell this year then I think the scholarship is better used on a true PG that is going to run the offense. But if he is a PG that can also play the 2 then I'm ok with that. PG is this teams #1 priority.

Best HS Big Man we can find.

Watching Newell run the point last night he looked solid with a clear high ceiling. TJ Taylor is redshirting as well.

OU's gonna sign two more players. One is going to be a pg and one is going to be a scorer. Eli Carter may fit both categories.
