Who goes #1 tonight?

patrick peterson woulda been my choice at #1

Worst NFL draft in recent memory. Christian Ponder at #12?? Seriously???

Cam Newton will set the Panthers organization back by 4 years.
Dude doesn't even know how to call a play. He would have been lost in the OU offense if he had decided to come here.

it makes perfect sense that boca like locker. horrible pick. he sucks. can't believe he went 8th.

I would have taken peterson 1 too

Jake Locker at 8?

What a collapse by the Titan organization.

But this collapse pales in comparison to the implosion that was the Vikings pick at 12.

Titans draft an inaccurate, raw QB who's best trait was running the ball. Hmm... Where have we seen this before?

And I think Ponder will turn out better than Locker. Both are great leaders, but Ponder was more accurate, and was very accurate in general (his completion percentage was near 70% his junior year). Not to mention he will have more help around him.

But I thought the Vikings should've taken Bowers or Fairley in the 1st round, and take a Ponder or Dalton at 43. Ponder isn't irreplaceable, but Bowers and Fairley have the potential to be instant impact players.

Locker threw for 38 TDs against 20 picks the past 2 years with a new coach and no decent receivers or OL. He threw for 310 and ran for 110 against USC. Beat them back to back, including the win over #3 USC in 2009 where he threw for 237.

He also was 4/20 for 70 yards and threw 2 picks vs. Nebraska.

This year's draft was very down when regarding QB's being a sure thing. I don't think there are any this draft.

Lions now have Fairley and Suh as their DT's.

Yikes.

Was thinking the same. That interior could be very special.

Don't think AD will be tearing up the Lions much anymore if Fairley develops. Suh was already one of the best DT's in the league last year.

"Boca" just likes being an instigator and a contrarian.

I'm being a contrarian for liking the 8th pick in the NFL draft. For liking the selection of a guy at #8 who entered last season as the #1 prospect. For not jumping off the bandwagon because of the weak talent surrounding him.

I'm disciplined and analytical. Which, as you correctly point out makes me contrary to most people, who fly by the seats of their pants and embrace the herd mentality.

He still should've played better despite having a weak supporting cast. See Andrew Luck and Eli Manning as examples of Top 10 talents in college that played up to their potential despite having a subpar crew around them.

All I do is go by what I see on the field. What anyone else says has no bearing, especially these ass clowns that rate prospects and say things like Clausen>Bradford coming out last year. Locker was brutally bad in too many games for to justify that pick. I do hope he does well, I like the guy.

Definately too high for Locker, but I see him as being a good enough athlete that he could start at another position in the NFL. This year was a pretty weak draft, but you can blame that on the uncertainty of where labor negotiations are at. Should be more fun to watch college football as a result with lots of guys staying that normally would have gone [Broyles and Lewis are two examples].
