Will this kid be added to the "one that got away" list?

D'Andre Wright from Lawton is definitely going to be on there. Sam's gonna have a video of him in a couple weeks with some of his junior highlights. I've seen some of it and it's going to hurt to watch. What a great get he's going to be for Tulsa.

Dre's senior year has been night and day from this summer, kid looks amazing when fully healthy. Has a college ready game when it comes to footwork and midrange abilities.

Kelvin didn't recruit or offer Obi until late in the process as well. I thought we should have offered him all along as well. Again, don't know if there was something other than Sampson wanting to go in another direction.

Knocking any individual coach for not recruiting Udoh is silly. That kid was as raw as the come in HS, and even after what, two years at Michigan, he still hadn't done much. I don't know of anybody that predicted him to blow up like he did. That's like bashing coaches for not recruiting Stephen Curry harder. Sometimes kids just turn into better players than anybody could ever imagine. It happens.

As for Obi, and I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine recruiting Scottie Reynolds and Damien James might have been some of the reason Kelvin didn't offer him. You say Kelvin tried to get in on him late, I don't think that happened. Look at that OU class before it fell apart, where/why would Kelvin had still been in on Obi late? Kelvin was great at recruiting to his system, and to his team. It is somewhat obvious to me that Obi probably wouldn't have been a great fit for Kelvin. That isn't a knock on Obi, just that Kelvin had a way he liked to construct his teams, and at that point, I don't see where Obi would have fit.

I thought OU missed out on Amric Fields as well. I haven't followed his progress at TCU enough to know how quickly he has adjusted to the college game. But we could have used a 6' 9" athlete like him the past couple of years.

I was at the PC v Memorial game. He's a really nice player but I just don't think he is a guy that makes us better. A lot of those points were late and created by his bro. Didn't show me anything that makes me think we regret not offering later. And I'm not ripping the kid, he's a solid mid-level DI kid.
