Woodard torn ACL

I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers for my son Jordan. I have been watching this board every since Jordan started playing at OU. As a parent I would like to say that all these young men need your support and words of encouragement. I have jumped on here a couple of times when I felt like Jordan was being criticized unfairly. Jordan has had a rough year. He may not have played as well as PEOPLE wanted him to but he has given his all to the school for four years. Some people love him some people hate him but his accomplishments are recorded in the record books of OU history and no one can take that away from him.

And please tell your son that all who root for the Sooners were always behind him regardless of appearances for appearances are just that.

Your boy is a baller and tougher than a ten-cent sirloin. I hope his recovery is full and without setbacks. Good luck to you, him, and the entire Woodard family.

Sportsfan, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am that Jordan's grest career at OU has to end on a sour note. I got sick to my stomach last night when I logged on and saw the horrible news.

I'm glad you let us know you're Jordan's father, but I feel bad that you felt the need to defend him about anything he has done or failed to do the past four years. If he was my son, I would be just as proud as I'm sure you are right now. He's a fine young man who has always been an outstanding ambassador for OU's basketball program.

Please let him know that the vast majority of his fans on this board wish him well in his recovery and in whatever he chooses to do in the future. Prayers and best wishes to you and your family as well!

Jordan is and will always be a great Sooner. Thanks, sportsfan, to you and your family for sharing him with us. Please express to him our gratitude and admiration for all he's contributed to Sooner basketball. We'll all be pulling for him going forward in all his future pursuits.

Thank you for the comments. I think most if not all, even those who are sometimes critical, appreciate Jordan's contribution to OU basketball. I have enjoyed watching him play and I will always remember the KU game in Lawrence last year when Buddy and Jordan almost pulled off an epic win in an epic game. Jordan was fantastic that night and showed how well he can shoot the rock. The same for the game at WV this year when he had the big 2nd half which led to the win. As a native Oklahoman, it's always fun watching kids from Oklahoma have success at THE University of Oklahoma. Best of luck to your family and especially Jordan and thank you for allowing him to entertain us for the last 4 basketball seasons which has been filled with way more good times than bad.

Jordan is a warrior. Big respect for him and all he's done for OU basketball. I wish him a speedy recovery and much success in the years to com.

Hate to see him end the career this way. 3+ years of excellent quality Big 12 starting work. Even though he is a quiet human being, always good to have a lead by example guy. Just wished we had another senior or junior to be the rah rah guy so he didn't have to feel like he had to be that type of guy. Hope surgery goes well for the young man

Hate him? Only idiots maybe.. he will go down as one of the most underrated PGs at OU imo. And had one of the most special seasons ever.

The improvement in his 3pt shooting last season was the greatest improvement I've ever seen, second to Hield's legendary season and improvement.

I was always a Woodard guy last year. He was our extra X-factor.

I was so excited when Jordan committed to play for OU. It really stinks how this season has gone but I'm so honored to have watched him play over the last 4 years.

My thoughts are with him.

MR. WOODARD: I think fans get so over zealous and critical at times that they forget these college players are kids, young men, who are doing the best they can at whatever sport they are participating in. It's rare that you find a player who is really dogging it.
I'm sure Jordan did all he could this year to help OU but all these frustrating close losses must have been more heart breaking for the players than the fans.
Hope Jordan recovers 100%, gets his degree and if there is basketball in his future or not so be it. He seems to be a positive young man who should be able to succeed in life in whatever he does.
Congratulations to you and Mrs. Woodard for raising a fine son.

Terrible news. Hope he has a successful recovery & does great things after OU.

Jordan has been an absolute warrior these four years and has done it with poise and a calm cool. He will be missed and regarded as one of the greats. Thank you JW. All the best on a speedy and a very successful
Professional career.
