Not good with links..it's up at ESPN.com..says Kentucky doesn't play as hard as the 'neers among other things..I guess they will find out tomorrow

Because running your mouth and giving Kentucky bulletin board material is smart.

You shouldn't need bulletin material and there is nothing wrong with saying you will win. I expect OU athletes to believe they will win every game so I see no reason why WVu athletes wouldn't expect to win.

Difference between saying you will win and the other team doesn't play hard

I agree Wildcats don't need motivation but giving them added chip on their shoulder isn't smart.

NO ONE expects them to win anyway... Might as well be confident!

If he thinks KU doesn't play hard, he's going to find out differently tonight.

He should be confident, he's stupid to say it publicly.

He said they UK doesn't play as hard as the 'Neers, and the way they press/trap, he is probably right. With that said, UK plays a lot smarter and is more talented.

Media looking for something to blow up.

difference in pubically stating you are going to win and believing it. I would hate for OU to come out and guarentee that we are going to beat MSU

I always cheer for WVU when they're not playing the Sooners. Grew up there, so still have some fond memories of that state.

Besides, while I picked UK to win it all on my bracket, I think someone still left in the tourney will spring the upset. The Cats are good, but it's not like every game they have played this season has been a blowout.

Outside of Joe Namath, how many of these kinds of statements have actually worked out? I certainly can't recall any off the top of my head. I'm sure there have been plenty, but more often than not, it seems to backfire. I'd actually be interested to see the stats.

Just ask Larry Birdine... :ez-laugh:
