2025-2026 Roster (as of 2May25) Hansen Committed

my current projected 2 deep

1. Brown / Forsythe
2. Pack / Blair
3. Jones / Nwankwo
4. Davis / Reid
5. Wague / Rodgers
Blair will never play a minute of basketball at OU as the "2".

We are likely going to see:

1/2 - Brown, Pack, Forsythe, maybe Jones
3/4 - Jones, Nwankwo, Reid, Davis, Atak
5 - Wague, Rodgers, and maybe Davis

I think Atak will earn playing time before Blair. I don't expect Blair or Holst to play much this year. Probably not Hansen either. If we add another player, that would eat into somebody's time as well.

Rather than Blair getting minutes at the 2, I think they'd just slide Jones or Nwankwo down.

Jones will play 0 min at the 4 he is a wing 2/3

Blair is also a wing 2/3 ... (he is also OU's highest rated recruit) ...

Nwankwo if healthy can play 2/3/4 ..

You are right about Jones. Not sure why I included him in that group. But I think it just supports my idea that Blair won't be the backup 2.

I see Blair as a 3 that is closer to playing the 4 in a small line up, than the 2. JMO.

I'm aware of his ranking. I'm also aware of his rawness and limitations being a guy that doesn't focus on bball 100% of the time.

Well damn. Think OU's NIL for basketball could, I dunno, kind of help? Kind of? Maybe?
everything i have read and heard tells me that he plans to be at OU ..

as i have said before if he is drafted he won't be at OU ..... and if he really wants to be at OU he won't be drafted ..

I am not saying you’re wrong or trying to play devil’s advocate, but I think you have to take what he and his family say with a grain of salt. It could be 100 percent true, but it also could be an attempt to negotiate as big a signing bonus as possible out of a big league team. That ESPN draft analyst who listed Blair as one of the guys in the 50-50 category is very plugged into the draft. He obviously talks to scouts and front office people, and agents, so he has a good idea of which kids are truly dead set on college and which are open to signing. Blair obviously is an interesting case because he also has the option of playing a second sport in college.

If baseball is his best sport, or the one he has the most potential in long term, it would definitely set his development back a ton if he spends three years moonlighting as a basketball player. If he gets drafted and signs, he could get 1,500 plate appearances in the next three years while also working on the game full time. If he goes to college, he gets maybe a few hundred plate appearances and misses a ton of practice time.

Again, no idea what he will do. It’s just a lot for him to think about.
