2025 NCAA Tourney Bracketology

Definitely not going to "cry" about UNC and/or Texas missing, as an OU fan (who also cheers for Duke), but I think both teams are better than Indiana and/or Xavier.

It looks like Xavier could be out with a UAB win over Memphis. I'm definitely cheering for UAB. Kennedy deserves it (underrated coach).

Texas misses today, Terry gets fired tonight/tomorrow. Most likely, right?

Didn't they make it last year? I thought Terry made a run one of the last few years.

Also, why the hell do you root for Duke?

I'm a native Carolinian (South). Dad cheered for Duke (basketball) and South Carolina (football). Bandwagoned one and suffered pain for the other, lol.

First team I remember watching...

I was 8-9 y/o. They were my introduction to basketball.

UAB did make it last year...."deserves it" was in comparison to Woodson, Terry, Miller, and Davis. I think Kennedy is better than at least 3 of them (Miller would be comparable or better). Just my opinion of course. Woodson is done, Terry is done, Hubert has a championship appearance but he's not a great HC.

Be interesting which hype machine wins: sec espn Texas felatio or old money acc Carolina?

I think horns earned it on the court. Spit.

Shocked by the momentum against Texas since they lost to Tennessee, was pretty confident they would get into the field when looking at their resume.

Especially them or UNC (although they are king of the frauds IMO). Understand everything is cyclical but ACC schools have to be a little concerned about getting 3 teams given what they’re supposed to be.

You play and beat nobody in the NC you're going to pay the price on Selection Sunday. It's what has pushed OU off the bubble once people started really breaking down resumes. You can't play it safe then lose 15 games and hope you get the benefit of the doubt. They don't deserve to make it in, sadly.

kinda surprised how long the ACC kept it together as a hoops first league in this football and ad money world......buoyed up by Clemson NC's for sure. I like hoops a lot and kinda sad in a way. but, I won't mind not seeing either Duke or Carolina not play in some puppet show regional in Charlotte even before the pod system.

I’d like to root for a couple bid thieves today because I think the bubble is so weak this season that teams like UNC, Texas, and a couple others don’t deserve to make it. But I have this tiny part of me that thinks we could end up in Dayton in that scenario. I don’t think that would happen, but not sure I’m willing to gamble.

What part of SC Stoops?

When I was in NC I spent a LOT of time in SC (in-laws lived there and recruiting when I coached in college).

I think it's a 50/50 chance that they fire him. He got to the tournament last year and the Elite Eight the year before. Although they had a very talented roster this year, he couldn't put it together.

At a place like Texas, with all the NIL money, resources, and a brand-new arena, there's really should be no excuse for not having success. If they are smart, they should fire Terry because they can go out and get pretty much any coach they want.

I think Terry saved his job with that A&M win. He will get 1 more year imo.

Seeing lots of projections with us playing Illinois in the first round... would be a solid matchup for us, imo... only concern is that Illinois is a very streaky team and when they are playing well, they can beat just about any team in the country.

I don’t like that one. Give me st Mary’s please.

If we end up a 9 seed, I’d guess it’s highly likely it’ll be in Duke’s region. I think the committee would try to avoid a potential SEC matchup in round two, and don’t think they’d put us in Wichita against Houston.

Please forgive my cluelessness. I'm not a betting man, so it's not clear to me what the above means. Is it basically saying IU is expected to get a bid. that they're favored by 260 points (or something) and texas is a 550 "point" underdog to get in?
If the betting line is negative, it means:
  • The team or player is the favorite.
  • The negative number indicates how much you'd need to bet to win $100.
  • If the number is positive, you're looking at the underdog, and the number refers to the amount of money you'll win if you bet $100.
So, you'd need to bet $260 to win $100 on IU getting a bid because they're expected to. And, you'd win $550 if you bet $100 on UT because they're not expected to get a bid.
