2025 NCAA Tourney Bracketology

Let’s just make this clear, outside of family, there isn’t anyone in the universe who will base their decision to watch/not watch the NCAA Tournament on whether or not OU/Moser/Fears are in it.
My sports watching is limited to OU and the Cubs these days. I will watch very little of the tournament if OU isn't in it.

But I don't gamble anymore. That's probably why.

If Moser goes four years without beating Texas once, he should be out, and it’s not like his record against OSU is good.

The NCAA misses are the turd on top.

And I’m someone who will stick up for him more than most, especially as it relates to our lackluster NIL backing.

It’s been an ugly tenure. These are the teams I think people care the most about beating. He’s now a combined 5-18 against them.

It’s easy to get excited after a good win against Missouri and a shot at the tournament. But the reality is he has fallen so short of expectations it’s hard to justify him staying another year.

Fans and Boosters of OU's basketball program deserve better. Bringing him back regardless of how this season ends shows pure apathy from the admin in regards to basketball. I am guessing he finds his way into another job this year, not like he hasn't tried multiple times.

Open that check book. It’s easy to spend someone else’s $8mill

Yup. With all the debating on this board, that is the one thing no one has come up with a plan for - how the administration is going to come up with $8 million. We all know Joe C has put the school in a horrible predicament if he has to ask for the buyout money for Moser or Venables...so we have to use some common sense in putting ourselves in his position. With the team finally playing well the past four games (not necessarily smart, but certainly competitive), Joe C may be able to justify keeping Moser another year. Like others have said, we can always hope he stays a year ahead of the firing squad by finding a new job (though at a much lower salary).

Back to the theme of this thread, I'm just ecstatic we basically got a stay of execution by staying on the bubble even after our 12th conference loss. However, Texas is also playing very well as of late and certainly have a psychological advantage in this matchup. Moser hasn't shown he could beat them regardless of where they play so this will be a humongous test.

the good thing is they don't have to come up with it right away .. it is paid out monthly over the full term ..

But as people have noted, the buyout isn’t a lump sum, so the dollar figure is misleading.

As for Texas, they have lost 3 of 4 and 6 of 8 overall, and 3 of 4 at home. Many of the losses weren’t very close. Miss St was a good performance, but they aren’t coming in playing well. The only reason I have very little reason to think we can pull it off is because Moser folds like a cheap suit against them, and because he never wins the games that would put us on the right side of the bubble.

I don't get the Xavier love of being in over us (mainly the biggest but very average platform in Lunardi). Below is a site you can compare teams and their "last four in first four out" bubble. UNC, Arkansas and Texas are safely in according to this site. I disagree with UNC - they're 1-10 in Q1 games.

OU 50 in NET 5-10 in Q1 games, 37th in WAB 40th in Kenpom, 45th in SOR/BPI and 47th in KPI. Just win Saturday and then see what happens next week. Either way we will have 2 opportunities for bubble wins because our first round SECT game will be against UGA, Vandy or Arkansas most likely.

We're competing with the below teams and we need to not have the bubble shrink like last year - Memphis, Gonzaga/St Mary's, UNM/Utah State & maybe VCU win their tournaments.

I think it is about 100% that Texas fires Terry ... sadly i guess the standard is a little higher for bball down there now ..
