a lot of crying going on over at orangepower

OSU has done all you can expect from a young middle of the pack Big 12 team, that's win all your home games. To make the tourney, they have to snag a road game. Easier said than done.

We're exactly what I thought we were at the start of the seaon. A young team with a lot of new faces, that has a tought time scoring consistently.

I agree. You have been pretty consistent in your analysis I must admit. Where are you guys hanging out/posting at now????? Is the IW still up and running??

Funny how every single year OSU is young. This excuse was used all last year as well. OSU's best players are below. Not exactly young.

Moses- Senior
Pilgrim- Senior
Page- Junior
Olukemi-redshirt soph.

One Senior returning starter. Not saying anything now I didn't say at the start of the year.

As for OSUJeff whining like a baby, get over it...about time OU got a few breaks from the refs at home.

What I was saying didn't have anything to do with OU getting or not getting calls at home.

The home team always gets more calls... that's the way it is.

I was more commenting on how atrocious the calls were when we played CU in Boulder.

I'm sorry - but any time the home team shoots 34 free-throws and you shoot 14, you are getting worked. And it's not like OSU was just firing up jump-shots all day long... we were simply not getting anything called when we were driving into the lane.

Meanwhile, they were calling b.s. hand checks and everything else on us on the defensive end.

So to come full circle, my point was that CU wasn't was "blowing" anything... my point was that CU wasn't/isn't all that good... because I think it's apparent now that we're a pretty lousy road team... and if the refs hadn't handed them a 3-to-1 free-throw advantage in our game in Boulder, we would have won there easily.

I wouldn't call us "young" this year compared w/ last year.... but I also wouldn't list Pilgrim as one of our four best players. He's been far too inconsistent this year.

I would rank our four best players as:

Moses (Sr.)
Olukemi (Soph. - first year playing D1)
Page (Jr.)
Williams (Jr - first year playing D1)

So it's not all that surprising that you guys beat them.

Not to take up for cowhumpers, but I did notice that we got some real home-cookin by the refs in the CU game. There were a bunch of calls that went our way.

But I'll take it! We've had a few games at home where we didn't get much of a break from the refs, so it all evens out.
Exactly what I was thinking.50/50 calls usually go at least in the majority to the home team, and I recall MANY GAMES WHERE OU GOT SHAFTED NOT ONLY ON THE ROAD BUT AT HOME.

I'm not an OSU fan, but I have seen them live once and on the tube some. I think they are greatly underperforming so far this year and I expect them to put it together by year's end.

I think they have a tremendous amount of talent. He's not the best, but Ford can coach. They have the pieces but aren't putting it together for reasons unknown to me.

I know most (maybe no one) will agree with me, but I think they are the 3d most talented team in the big 12, just behind Kansas and Texas. Moses, Williams, Pilgram, Olukemi, Brown, Franklin and Dowell are all really athletic, and Penn and Page give them decent point play. I don't really know why they aren't playing better.

I guess we disagree. Middle of the pack talent wise. No where close to Texas or Kansas. Of course not many teams are.

I almost pissed myself when I read this? Who let Jim Belushi register here?

I don't know about 3rd most talented. If they can limit the fouls and have JP and Brown consistantly play good, then I think OSU could be in the group right behind TU and KU. The problem is Brown is all over the place, JP can go for 29 points or 2 points, and there is foul trouble every game.

I understand they aren't playing real well now, I just think they will be by years end.

Looks like Ford disagrees, but I think his best lineup is Dowell at point, Franklin and Olukemi on the wing and Moses and Pilgram inside. I would rotate Williams inside, Brown on the wing and Page and Penn at point.

From the responses to my post, I was right, no one agrees with me. To each his own.

Franklin can't play the 3. I love the kid, but he isn't skilled enough to play on the wing. Also Page is the only player on the team that has shown to have a very high basketball IQ. I think he needs to be on the floor as much as possible.

The lineup I perfer is Page, Brown, Olukemi, Moses and Williams.

I tend to agree with you, I have them 4th most talented.

KSU, Mizzou, Baylor are all more talented. Possibly A&M too.
They are more talented than Nebraska, Iowa State, Tech, Colorado, and us.
I still think we've got a good chance to beat them in Norman.

I would say outside of the point guard position they are a very talented team. Page is a really good player, but can't handle the 1 in Big XII play. Penn has been a massive disappointment. Really miss Gulley. They probably have two extra wins with Gulley at the helm rather than Penn (VT and CU).

Page and Gulley were very good compliments of one another, it allowed Gulley to guard the other team's 2.

There you go, We have bits and pieces. Not a single All Big 12 performer on the squad. In the past we we had a James Anderson to hang our hat on.
