Capel and the Floor Slapper wringing their hands around Coach K as ex-OU assistant Bob Hoffman takes down Duke...in Raleigh!

As happy as I am to see Mercer win, I'm 10000 times happier to see Bob Hoffman get that win. Class guy and great coach.

Even better that Mercer and Hoffman did it in Duke's backyard!

This win softened the blow of last night's loss just a little for me. I'm always happy when Duke loses.

A good step for everyone that's an OU fan is to stop caring what Capel does or doesn't.

He might get the Wake Forest job next week and do great...get over it.

Here come's Debbie Downer in to throw some water on the fire, lol.

I don't understand why people take pleasure in a former coach's team losing.

Sounds like Mercer won about the same way NDS got us. Inside.

Some people still hate Sampson, have to expect that when a coach gets your school on probation and leaves (whether being fired or taking another job). I wouldn't call either of the last 2 coach departures happy and clean.

Wake Forest is coming off a bad coach. They will try to hire someone with a whole lot better background than Capel.

They rarely are. Dave Bliss CHOSE to leave OU for SMU after a 15-12 season. Billy Tubbs CHOSE to leave OU for TCU after finishing his last two seasons here in the NIT. As good as Billy was, many OU fans in 1994 felt like it was time for him to move on, as he was 15-13 in his last season here.

Granted, leaving a team on probation makes the departure even less happy and clean.

I liked Capel overall, just sucks what happened with the two "chosen ones" in 2009. He did some really good things here but man did it end in a horrible wreck.

I don't really care that Capel is there, I just like to see Duke lose.

I agree it has nothing to do with Capel. Duke is the basketball team I dislike the most. My joy in Duke losing would be no different if Capel was no longer an assistant coach at Duke.

Cmon... Most don't care. Much of the time the vitriol is spawned by some inexplicable Capel-lover who finds some needle in the haystack stat or anecdote that allows him to compare favorably, at least in said Capel-lover's eyes, to Kruger. I agree it's tired but lets call it like it is. I think you've been on this board for awhile, no?

Yeah the 2009 and 2010 classes set us back

was hoping this was a picture of Travis Ford laying on the ground.

I could care less if Capel loses as long as he's not the coach in Norman he can win every game (except when he plays us).

However, I highly doubt WF will turn their program over the Capel considering how horribly he did at OU. Maybe WF is better for him due to his ties to that region but any admin with a luck if sense will look at what he did here and move to the next guy. I could see some mid-major give him a chance at some point but when you think about it his dad was a colossal loser as a coach and his brother is no great shakes. Maybe bad coaching is in his blood but that can be overcome with good assistants (see Leonard Hamilton or Scott Drew).
