Getting really excited for November? The last few years I have followed the recruiting more so than ever (thanks to social media outlets) and the guys we bring in (and Dante) will help give us something most experts said we lacked, depth. Losing Frank hurts the ability to stretch the defense but I think even though we lose that aspect we add a few others, dynamic wing players that could go big/small in Dante and Rashard and the development of Khadeem and Manyang (maybe McNeace?). Should be a fun season. By my count we lose 3 players (really only 1 made a huge impact in Tashawn) and bring in 4 and maybe McNeace could play like a DJ spot role (2-5 min based on foul trouble)

I'm really really pumped.

This is the first year in awhile that i would consider us loaded

The post rotation will be interesting. Lattin and Manyang should both get more minutes than Lattin got last year. Spangler will get his 30 minutes/game .... with maybe a little more rest than he's gotten the past 2 years when he has worn down some by the end of the season.

McNeace might get some DJ-like minutes because of his length and athleticism, but I have a hunch that Buford will get significant time in the post, too. It's a position that he's comfortable playing and he is a big, strong player kind of like Dustin Hogue was for Iowa State. I think Buford is more likely to get post minutes than Odomes because he is bigger. He could even be our most explosive inside scoring option this year. Buford

No doubt we will have a lot of fouls to give in the post with our depth so they can be more aggressive and worry less about foul trouble.

Yes, the post rotation will be very interesting.

Regarding the OP, put me in the camp of the pumped and excited. The potential of all of the newcomers is intriguing and exciting.

It will also be gratifying and satisfying to watch the three senior starters complete their long journey at OU in a successful manner. It has been a long, long journey for Isaiah, Ryan and Buddy; and it has been a joy to watch these hard working competitors improve themselves and the OU basketball program. They are the bedrock foundation for the success so far of the Lon Kruger era. Senior Day next March will be something special.

Hopefully, the 2015-16 freshman class of Dante Buford, Jamuni McNeace, Rashard Odomes and Christian James solidify into a new bedrock foundation for the continuing success of the OU basketball program. It is fortunate that they have the opportunity to learn from the examples set by Isaiah, Ryan and Buddy.

Having said all that, I may be most intrigued by the answers to other questions.

1. How much has Khadeem Lattin improved?
2. How good is incoming junior big man Akolda Manyang?
3. Will an experienced Jordan Woodard elevate his game as a junior?

There is just so much there to get a Sooner basketball fan fired up and ready to go.

Count me among what should be a growing list of pumped and excited fans about next year's team! As Bounce said, this is the first season in sometime that I can honestly say an OU team is loaded with the kind of depth and talent we have not seen in years. So much so, that the biggest challenge for our coaches may be finding a way to keep everyone happy with playing time.

Sure, there are still a few unanswered questions (Traveler's list is a good place start). But, there are so many positives we already know the answer to, those questions pale in comparison. Chief among them is depth. And, I don't mean in the form of bodies to occupy bench space. This Sooner team will have quality depth at every position. The only possible exception may be a true back up point guard, but even that should be as good or better than last year.

I could go on, but I would just be repeating what Laxtothemax, usedtobe1 and Traveler have already said. Let's just say, it's good to be an OU basketball fan!!!

I am way more pumped and excited than last year, last several really. I believe we won't know what this team is till conference, so many new pieces. I hope all the starters minutes go down on average. I expect much more rim protection on D.

Of course we're all fired up. This is the best freshman class we're signed since the last Kelvin Sampson class of 2005-2006 where we released 3 players to play elsewhere.

Question: Are these players listed in Trav's post a stronger class than Scottie Reynolds, Damion James, Tony Crocker, Keith Clark, and Jeremy Mayfield who were all top 75 players that had the Sooners class ranked as high as #4? Reynolds, James, and Crocker were the only ones who made much of a D1 impact.

I think when you add in Juco signee Akolda Manyang, I would rather have this year's class.

What do you guys think?

Sampson's class, and it's not even close.

Good post. This is a concern. I think Cousins can definitely handle some of the back up PG duties, but ideally, OU would have a second true PG that could take that on. I'm hopeful that Dinjiyl will improve, but I just don't know if it'll be enough to rely on in truly big situations. Regardless, I'm looking forward to it!

Keith Moose Clark will go down as one of the biggest what ifs. Second to juan patillo in recent years ou bball

Yeah Dinjiyl is a grown ass man. I think there's a bigger jump this year being his senior year than most people expect. We are going to have 3 (4 if you count Walker) seniors and that leadership and experience is something you cant teach. I would like to see Dinjiyl bully his way into the paint more like he could do against some of the weaker guards he played against.

Clark is bigger to me than patillo. Clark could've been similar to Royce White from Iowa state
