Next year their roster will look like this:

Cave
Jones
Cox
Chou
Wallace
Brown
Cohen
Mompremier
Prince
Landrum
Dry
Gulley
Szczepanski
Davis

Do you think they will be better or worse next year?

We will be better although the loss of Johnson is huge. She sees the court better than any other player at Baylor. Jones will take over point and Wallace will get more playing time which she deserves. I think really just to have Brown and MP a year of experience under their belt will aid in their development. I expect Nina to have a breakout senior season and who knows with Final Four in Dallas it might be our year!!

If Lauren Cox is Breanna Stewart then they could be a top 3 team again and eventually win 1 or more. If she is not- which I don't see but thats just from highlight film- then there is no way you lose Niya Johnson and Nina Davis and get better.

Nina brings the grit to that team and I think Niya is probably their best player. They'll definitely take a step back for a season, I would think.

Cox doesn't shoot a lot from outside but she does shoot 38% BTA.

I'm not sure Johnson is technically the best player - but she is certainly the most important.

It will be hard for Wallace to get too much more playing time since she already plays a lot. But she may get a bit more.

Assuming the 2 inside players don't suffer a sophomore slump, they should be better. I'm not sure the loss or presence of Davis will have much impact. They have already absorbed a significant drop off in her consistency. She scored well against Texas - but has not been consistent this year, and they have been able to win without much from her. In the games where officials hold her accountable for her fouling, she almost disappears. She is one of the worst I have ever seen on moving screens, and she likes to stand behind opponents and grab their arms to spin them and get rebounds. Watching that I wonder if some officials are afraid Kim will cuss at them if they call it correctly - so they just swallow their whistles.

They will be better next year and continue to get better in 2017 and 2018

That's the way it looks to me as well. With Cox and Chou, they will have some additional ways to score and both girls have good size. They are also in on some great players from Texas and other states for 2017 and 2018 as well. I would like to say they are becoming easier to beat but it wouldn't be true.

Come on guys, If Cave, Jones, Cox, Chou, Brown, Mompremier, and Davis all transfer we could possibly beat them at least once couldn't we? :)

Baylor is the all time best program in the history of the Big 12. The Lady Bears will likely will continue to be good as long as Mulkey is running the show.

The one area with the most room for improvement for BU would have to be recruiting. Even though there have been plenty of great players over the years, there has not always been enough talent across the board.

However, it does appear that recruiting has been on the upswing for Baylor. The 2015 class was very good, the 2016 class is excellent on paper, and some big names for 2017 are already circulating. If Alexis Morris and Didi Richards do sign on, then that could really solidify things for years to come.

Sad but true.

If Morris and Richards go to Baylor it would be 6 kids on there roster that would be McDonald's all Americans. Not to mention a starting 5 standing 5'8", 6'2", 6'2", 6'5", and 6'8". The core would be young and have 3 years together and they would add Collier in 2018 from what I'm hearing.

As long as Mulkey recruits as well as she does there is no chance that we will be consistently competitive.

I think there must be Baylor boards for those who worship them. This board is for the University of Oklahoma.

That is why 2017 is critical that we sign a couple of great players. There are some out there, we just have to sign them. V

Think it was a thread talking about Baylor so it may have been ok to talk about it here. Better yet why don't you start your own forum
