I understand but Barnes is doing it. He wasn't picked to win the league.
Texas was arguably the 5th best team going into the season behind KSU, KU, Baylor & Mizzou.
Agreed.

Great, so if we beat Texas in Norman and finish 9-7 there appears to be no valid argument why Capel would not be coach of the year.
It's a tall order and the next step would be a win over Baylor.
My fault, I just thought this thread was funny. Way to put the cart before the horse.
Not really. The OP stated that Capel's name was in the hunt. At that time, it was.
He then asked how many wins would it take for Capel to win the award. A legitimate question.
He then stated that every other coach in the league sees how our players are improving. They have improved, although last night was a stumbling block which happens with young teams.
It was a legitimate thread at the time and provided some good discussion. Nothing wrong with that
This was not a legitimate question.
Barnes had this thing won after the KU game in Lawrence.
...we beat the 2 bottom feeders, ISU and Tech and then beat the 2 worst basketball programs all time in the big 12 in Baylor and CU.
At the very least, you have to include Capel in the conversation.
It's always really easy to bump a thread like this 2 weeks later and criticize it.
