Bolden on Campus

One thing I will say about 247 is James Hale is an OU cheer leader. I like OUinsider and I like the positive nature of its news but you do have to interpret it understanding Hale. I still think it is positive.

If you want playing time at a top 20 top 15 school, then OU has a great shot. Just not going to happen at UK with Cal'state platoon system. I think Kansas is probably the biggest threat as they don't really rotate their bigs out as much.

Bolden will play for any school. Start at a couple, maybe not... but playing time he isnt scared of, I assure you.

I know what you mean, but I think that gets overstated. Robert Allen is a cheerleader; Hale generally gives it pretty straight, I think. I've seen plenty of recruiting updates where he stated that OU was a long shot at best to sign that player and other similar assessments.

That doesn't mean he's always right when he says he has a good feeling about a player's interest in OU, but I don't think he qualifies as an outright cheerleader.

I consider Hale an honest and professional homer.

I consider Allen an unprofessional homer.

Got a star on campus. Can't ask for much more than that! I love Krugers recruiting. Gets the right guys with right attitudes. Needs that first 5 star stud tho ahem Bolden..

That 247 article seems quite positive to me. Bolden said he had a good time, it was second visit to Norman, he really liked the players and coaches. The players all seem to get along and all like Coach Kruger a lot. He said the offense was appealing to him He said OU impressed him in that they seem to think they offer him something different from the other teams recruiting him. (Probably being the star player versus one of many star players but that was not said in the article).

He then mentions trips to Duke and KU. Said good things about both schools but came back to OU. Saying he has a strong interest in OU and just needs to think about what is best for him. He said he had no time table but relationship with the head coach and staff, other players and type of offense are really important to him. His other quotes suggest OU met those criteria.

He never mentioned proximity. My take, OU has a legitimate shot but I think we need to recognize this kid has offers from all the top programs, many of which have better basketball reputations than OU. Hopefully OU can land him.

Thank you!!!

I can't even fathom my reaction to if this kid committed to OU...would be a great day for PU bball.

Hale getting an interview with Bolden is a great sign.
Bolden's not giving local OKC guys an interview unless he's genuinely interested in OU.
And Hale's so focused on football recruiting that someone had to help him setup that
interview. Those contacts are also interested in Bolden considering OU.

Totally Agree. Theres no guarantee he would start for us next year but if he did come here and didn't start that would say a lot about how far Lattin and Buford and possibly Manyang has come.

I don't see him coming to OU and not starting. Going to UK and not starting is one thing, but if he comes to a school like OU, I'd have to think the opportunity to start and play major minutes is a big reason why.

Is he a one and done type kid, or is he expected to stay in school a couple of years?

He'd start!

I dont think he's elite yet. Id say he'd stay a couple years.

I would say he is elite regardless of whether he is one and done. It would be so amazing to get his kid.

Sure. An amazing get for OU, 5 star bigtime talent. Though, that wasnt the question. He's not Skal, ben simmons or brown.

Pay Leo a stipend for his info - put him in charge of the recruiting page, "Men's prospects" -tell him you will pay him on the increased hits, which will get ad $ your paying him for his performance.
His info on the recruiting page will be awesome -
Besides right now it says we have Peyton Prichard committed and doesn't mention most of the new recruits etc ... I'm not complaining, just pointing out an area where everyone could win.

If ouleopard is associated with OU in any way, he likely wouldn't be able to take pay for the info. Doubt he'd want it either.

I think, in time, he'll be back.
