But yes, healthcare reform is one of my main issues.
We know what the dems want.
I need to know what the republicans plan

A $4 Trillion healthcare industry will give Dems what they always want: Control!

That’s why they did almost nothing the first two years of Obama’s first term except use every trick in their arsenal to get Obamacare passed.

I don't know if I'd call it their "plan", but you have to think the Dems would love the idea of Biden getting elected, then stepping down or being seen as unfit, opening the door for a more extreme person to step in. It'll be REALLY interesting to see who he picks for his VP. Which already makes me sick, b/c it's probably going to be a minority woman for no other reason than to have a minority woman on the ballet with him.

Kamala Harris didn’t get a facelift for nothing!

I would think that would be considered insulting... you may not be the best candidate, but I am going to specifically pick a black female?

I don't have a problem with Kamala Harris or anyone else, but it's kind of a weird process, to me, to say "I am only going to pick a black female as VP".

Now, I will admit I thought the same thing about Brett Kavanaugh. He mentioned that in an effort to increase female opportunities in the legal profession that he had the most female clerks.

So maybe it's not that bad? Maybe people in the privileged position have to go out of there way to select people in the oppressed or under-represented position? Kavanaugh picked more females at the expense of potentially more qualified males, and Biden is picking a black female at the expense of potentially better candidates.

Is it the same thing?

Or picking Pence to get the Christian vote because of your behavior.

Biden is locked in now. He has been saying his VP would be a woman of color since he won the nomination.

No he just said it would be a woman. He didn't say it would be a woman of color. I assume it will be Kamala Harris though, she's the obvious choice.

True. Guess I assumed since most of the conversation, not to mention the four women of color on his list of candidates, meant he was leaning in that direction.

I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t go with a woman of color. Kamala Harris would be my guess as well.

I am almost certain it is going to be Kamala Harris. She has the most star power, energy, etc.

She is pretty active in the Senate too. She is the primary sponsor on a lot of proposed legislation, including:

  • Water for Tomorrow Act
  • Saving Our Street Act
  • Whistleblower Protection Act
  • Votesafe Act of 2020
  • Public Lands Act
  • Housing is Infrastructure Act of 2019
  • Preparing Superfund for Climate Change Act of 2019
  • Accountability for Utility Executives Act
  • Family Friendly Schools Act
  • Domestic Workers Bill of Rights Act
  • Accountability for Wall Street Executives Act
  • Fair Chance at Housing Act of 2019
  • 21st Century SKILLS Act
  • Focus on Children Act
  • Living Shorelines Act of 2019
  • Outdoors for All Act
  • 21st Century STEM for Girls and Underrepresented Minorities Act

And about 50 other pieces of proposed legislation in this and last congress.

Picking Harris is going to cost Biden a bunch of votes.

Focus on children act sounds promising. I didn’t know she was pro life...

He said a black woman on the Supreme Court randomly.. hard to keep track all of his identity politics concessions

We weren’t talking about the Supreme Court, but there are plenty of qualified African-American women. Is that a problem for you?

No couldn't care less actually.

Imo it's actually insulting to them to be nominated only bc their skin color matches up with an identity politics concession tho.

I like Clarence thomas prolly 2nd to Scalia in modern supreme court justices (poor guy was put through that Anita hill hoax)
