Capel could still be on the way out >>> The Oklahoman

Damn. Berry is taking a page out of the Dave Sittler book.

Berry either knows something about the Tiny stuff, or he is effing clueless about the entire situation. I can't decide which.

I am an anti Capel guy because of the stats. But I think he's staying at least one more year. I don't know if it's the good thing or right thing. But the money is too much in his favor.

Re: Berry Tramel: OU may have won Bedlam, but Jeff Capel could still be on

Hey Sid, at least the baseball team is 13-0.

the galloway haters are still waiting in the wings to pounce

Not really Capel has taken that over for good reason.

There is never a good reason to HATE anyone, save evil people.

Like many around here, the clueless Tramel has an ax to grin.Heignores the fact that Capel inherited a peogram with little talent and a probation hanging over the program thanks to Kelvin. In spite f that he is 95-67( not 67-95 lkeso many seem to think).By comtrast Indiana the other program Kelvin trashed has yet to record a single winning season since the debacle.I sTo, Crean a lousy coach.Evidence would say no but he is STILL rebuilding IU which is a basketball power akin to OU's status in footballOU is struggling,IU is struggling, hmmm is there a comman link?

Joe C. is a smart man and he understands the situation, just as he understood that patience was necessary when Coach Coale weht 28-55.

I would take the talent we had then over the talent we have now. More importantly our style doesn't fit our talent. That's what hurts us the most.

Huge difference between Coale's program which was almost completely scrapped a few years before and the first year Joe C was here Coale had her first winning season. Since then she's won 20 games most seasons and in the NCAA Tournament every year. Joe C has never seen a womens basketball team at OU not go to the post season.

Some of you need to just let it go…or maybe you could apply for a job at the DOK alongside the likes of Skip Bayless (oops, I mean BT).

First...Joe C had nothing to do with Sherri Coale's hiring and he wasn't here when she "went 28-55". As Nick pointed out, his first year in Norman was her first above .500 season.

Second...Kelvin was caught making too many phone calls, not paying players. The phone calls wasn't even a violation a few years before he was caught and the number of calls he made was averaged out to be less than 2 extra calls per day.

Third...Kelvin had IU in 1st place in the Big 10 and on course to win the conference and probably get a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament as they were top 10 at the time he was released. After he left, they lost a lot of underclassmen to the draft (Gordon, White, etc.) and they lost a recruiting class. So, it's not all KS fault the IU program is in the crapper right now.

This is so predictable; you built a team up at the beginning of the season, then tear the coach down at the end. I'm over it.

Well that will certainly help recruiting...

Recruiting season for the top players is pretty much over. All we have left is the PG from Cali and another Juco with minimal stats from Chattanooga. Of course, we can probably throw another hail mary.

Unless someone is ponying up; at minimum a $5million buyout and another $1 million to $1.5 million for a new coach, I doubt Capel is going anywhere.
