I dont know whats up. But I think we could have used his ball handling and penetration skills tonight. Plus Cade and the starters played too many minutes.
I noticed for the first time that Blair was pouting on the bench. He did not do that in the 1st game. I hope he gets a shot soon and can help us. I liked the 8 assists he put up in the exhibition game. We need somebody that can break down a defender and kick it out to shooters. We did too much passing it around on the perimeter tonight. On offense we played a lot like the game a couple of years ago against Stephen F. Austin.

I agree. I know this is a rebuilding year...and I want to win as much as anyone...but I kinda wish we were playing a little deeper into the roster. I wouldn't have minded giving Cade a rest, playin Pledge @ the 2 and giving Blair a shot at that point. Wouldn't mind seeing what C.J. could do with a few more minutes either.

I hope OU didn't waste a scholarship on him. If a guy can't play, don't give him a scholarship.

The silver lining is it could lead to an extra scholarship for the late period.

I don't think they wasted a scholarship on him. I just think he needs to develope his defense right now. His offense may be there, but right now, based on seeing him in the exhibition game he is a defensive liability. If he can get to where he is not getting beat of the dribble than I think he will start seeing some PT.
If we could combine Newell and Blair into one player we would have STUD at the PG position offensively and defensively.

Is this the main issue. Did you get this from a source or is it just your opinion. No big deal. I was just wondering. Nobody seems to really know why he is not playing. I just know we can't play 6 guys all year and we need a PG. And since Blair has more experience than half our roster it would be nice if we knew why he is not playing. I wish Capel would comment on why his projected starting PG has not played a single minute. Thats pretty abnormal.

I think this is the main issue, granted it may have something to do with his weight as well, but defensively he is a liability right now. If he is on the floor, the opposing point basically has carte blanche to score at will.

I think the main point of the question is why is our projected starting point guard in the preseason now the 3rd string/mop up duty point guard. And too answer that I think it is due to him having cement blocks on his feet on the defensive end of the floor
