Athlon and Lindy's magazines expected Blair to step in at the point. Thats why I expected it. And the fact that he was our starting point guard in the exhibition game 2 weeks ago.

Projected by Capel in the pre-season seeing as how he started the exhibition game, and had prior D-1 experience

I think he needs to lose about 10-15 pounds. He can't keep folks in front of him at this time. I am pulling for him, but his defense in the exhibition game was unacceptable if this team is going to beat anyone decent.

After the exhibition game though you still had him as your starter right? So you still thought he was better than any other option we had?

Yeah, I did. And I still think that he has a shot. From what I have gathered, this staff is sending a message that the kind of defense he played in the exhibition game is unacceptable. I'm sure that he is trying to challenge Carl to step up and work harder. Defense is all about effort. I also am wondering if the stress fracture in Blair's foot has been giving him trouble, but that is just be speculating.

I just don't think we've heard the last of Carl Blair this year....
