Chance to see Dante Buford on TV

Nairn is super explosive. Did you see him accelerate past Buford? If we had Nairn & Woodard at the point that's final 4 caliber.

We almost had him. If ullis or whatever his name is, would've waited 2 weeks to committ to uk. He was ours!

So heartbreaking. That would have given us a solid top 15-20 recruiting class to go with a very good core of guards.

After watching the game I see no evidence of Buford playing the 3 next year, maybe when he's older and more progressed. We will never have to run a play for him to score next year, I think we run more plays for Spangler, and Buford gets garbage buckets and put backs for his offense like Spangler does this year. Only difference is Buford will be emphatically dunking his points. Amazing athlete and his shot didn't look terrible, missed 2 jumpers but form looked ok and both went in and out. He will need 15 pounds to add, right now he's a much better offensive rebounder than defensive. He was in position a lot and got moved out pretty easily. Also saw no evidence of any handles as he either dunked it or passed it. Again first time I've seen anything but a highlight mix from him and I just watched it on tv so this summary could very easily not be how he always is, just my one observation.

Lamonte Turner is a stud, really hope we get him to Norman. I heard the announcer say he reclassified to be a sophomore, should be a junior.

The 1-2-3-5 are set next year with Woodard-Cousins-Buddy-Spangler. Buford would either replace Cam or Neal. Our best hope is for Bennett to take a big step and start at the 4. Give Lattin & Buford run with the 2s and develop.

Zero chance of Bennett making that step IMO.

Let Buford start, and focus on defense and rebounding. He'll get plenty of touches off offensive boards, and on the break. Let the other four starters score in the halfcourt.

Your probably right. It would sure be nice if a Bennett could take a step because we need more size to compete with top teams.

I liked what I saw of Buford. He has some work to do on defense. But he's sound fundamentally in every other way from what I can see.

It's difficult to say where he needs the most work on the offensive end, because he didn't see the ball much. It has to be frustrating to work your tail off to get open, only to see one of the guards launch a three that had no chance or turn the ball over driving down the lane. Turner is going to be really good before he's through. Color me unimpressed with the others.
