those one-finger salutes and the chorus of "eff-you" show that the Ole Miss player isn't the only one who needs to keep it classy.
True, but I figure he kind of started it.
If I were his coach, I'd sit him down for a talk.

This is why you're not a coach, and if you are I'd wager you aren't very successful. Your athletes do good for the TEAM you reward them. You do not discipline them.
Have no idea what the fans said, but all you need to do is read Marshall Henderson's rap sheet to know what kind of person he is.
This.
Henderson does this sort of thing constantly. He is the epitome of "that guy." After every made shot, it's TO running to the star in Cowboys Stadium. He doesn't need to be provoked. He's the instigator.

are you retarded? boasting and showing off does NO good for the team and is a selfish act. any coach i had would have kicked my ass
Did I say anything about discipline? I said I'd have a talk with him.
And yes, of course I'd praise him for hitting the game-winning FTs. After which I'd inform him that there were to be no more displays like that. The young man doesn't represent merely himself -- he represents his teammates, the coaches, his university, and its supporters and fans.
I am not. They won the game in a hostile environment, but I'm sure the fans said very gracious and humble things to him throughout the gameYou can coach without kicking the sh*t out of your players.
they've been in hostile environments their whole life playing basketball. they should know not to engage in stuff like that. at a minimum i would have ran his ass in practice until he puked with a firm talking to and I would expect the same from any coach
Discipline/instilling a particular behavior, but yes I agree it wasn't the "classiest" thing to do. Got to remember they are kids who don't know everything like you guys.
