Not to downplay the strength of Oregon, A&M, et al., but OU really got a ridiculously good draw for a 2 seed. KenPom ranks Oregon at the 3 line and A&M on the border between 4 and 5. 538 posted their interactive tournament predictions and give OU a 32% chance of advancing to meet Kansas in the Final Four.

According to almost every ranking system, Oregon is worse than West Virginia.

KenPom has Cal State-Bakersfield as the best 15 seed, but has Oregon State and VCU as the worst 7 and 10 seeds. And for good measure, Duke and Baylor are the worst 4 and 5 seeds.

Does any of this matter? Not really. Still got to go out there and beat whoever's next.

The computers are right, OU can beat any team in the field when they're on their game and playing the kind of defense we saw for more than half of the regular season. If the real OU team shows up in every game, I think we'll see a deep run to at least the final four. If not, an early exit could be in our future.

Yes!

Exactly right. It's half up to our players if they wanna do all the little things it takes and half dependent on how well we shoot

If they team we took to Hawaii and Lawrence shows up we go real far with out draw

So ... in other words Ada you think we'll either do good or do bad?

Yes, coolm, I suppose you could say that. How is that for sticking your neck out on a prediction? ;)

I should also add that I lean heavily to the "doing good" side. That's because my heart wants it to be true and the fact that I know from having seen every game this season what this team can do when motivated to play well and defend their opponent. If I was a betting man, I would put some money on OU going to at least the Elite Eight and possibly the final four.

I just wanted to give you a hard time.

I think OU does well if they dont hit a grind it out physically tough team with good guards.

Teams are going to deny Buddy. What will Lon do to get him some shots and still not force passes or shots?

Not every team has somebody that can successfully defend Buddy that way.

yeah, obviously all of us "negative" people believe OU CAN do it...and WANT them to do it. The other obvious is it will take good shooting by 2 guys and decent post results.

The ONE silver lining in the WV loss...is Buddy had 6 points..and we shot 50% from the 2's 3's and high FT's...lost by 2 with so many chances...if that can be "good".

I also think it will be a fresh start to not play any big12 teams.

Like the draw too, just a little worried about VCU pressure (poor man's WVU) and then A&M has some size that could give us some trouble. I think our guards could dominate the region though
