Dante Buford getting the start tomorrow

What does "as needed" mean to you? Sure he's gonna play some, but all I was saying is not significant minutes. We could always go small, depending on the matchups. It's not like I'm saying he should be sitting by CJ Cole all season.

McNeace will probably end up playing more than he should for the simple fact that Lattin has been prone to foul trouble.

His nickname in high school was Stretch.

Sorry to me as needed means he may not play one game, then get 5 minutes in the next and maybe occasionally a 15 minute game.
By your definition we have 5 starters and everyone else plays as needed.
I think McNeace will average close to 15 minutes a game. Maybe Lon goes small at some point but I have yet to see it so I wouldn't count on one of those guys not being on the floor at all times.

Great news. Think this team may start taking shape. I like this starting 5, with Doolittle, strong-Moore and mcgusty being the main reserves. Mcneace, freeman and shepherd only play as needed.

early in the season, I'm liking shepard over strong-moore....granted I haven't gotten to watch nearly enough of the games

Shepherd made a case for breaking out of that "last man up" pack last night. Time will tell if he can repeat his performance against better competition.

Yeah, I want to see him against better competition. Like Kelvin used to say, freshmen make such a jump from November to February, and you can already see him improving. Shepherd seems to have all the tools except physical strength. I was wondering about his outside shooting too. His athleticism is off the charts and he looks like he has good handles. Who knows.. How much will being a beanpole hold him back against physical Big 12 guards?
