Of course you can. You know as well as I do that Bill thinks he’s invincible. And, why not? He has been the NCAA’s poster boy for so long he had to be in shock when his request to reinstate DeSousa was denied.

I still don’t know how his players survived the series of scandals last year? Self knew that if he continued to claim they were innocent little doobies, most would be gone to the NBA or graduation. One is still playing. Bill is not just a good coach, he’s good at cover ups when his players get in trouble.

Is it possible DeSousa’s denial was the NCAA’s way of saying “enough is enough.” If it was, Self may regret what he said.

My mistake. It was his assistant coach on tape telling adidas to buy KU players. Bill self was caught with text messages to the guy paying players which showed he had knowledge of paying players.

They played him last year knowing he had taken money. Those games should all be forfeited. Even though I know that doesn't really matter.

The AD was outraged at the penalty. They flat out paid the kid. Of course he isn't eligible and your program should be under sanctions.

Guys, I hate KU as much (actually, more) than anyone, but it really isn't fair to misstate facts. No one has ever alleged that the kid receved a dime or even knew about it. They've had players in the past who actually did take money IIRC, but with De Sousa, even the NCAA has said he had no knowledge. I am NOT saying that means there should be no penalty, bur I just think it is important to get the facts right. I don't know how anyone could argue that two full years isn't a significant penalty. That hurts KU more than the symbolic sanction of vacating wins from last year.

yeah, I'm not a big fan of these fictions people create to justify shady conduct by a coach. If a kid doesn't want to get an education then he needs to stay out of the college game. Go overseas like Ferguson did then come back when you're NBA eligible. I dont buy all these stunts that people like Calamari and Calhoun pull(ed) to bypass the rules. I dont like it when the football coaches do it either. We've lost sight of the big picture in the name of money.

I never said KU didn't do anything wrong. I said that to date, no one, not even the NCAA, has alleged that the kid himself even knew about it. The guardian got the $2,500. The NCAA is getting hammered by people nationwide for the two-year suspension -- if the kid himself got any money, they would certainly not hesitate to say that because it would help them in the PR game, and we all know that is the NCAA's primary concern.
