Sorry if this has been discussed but according to the recruiting boards I follow, Phil Forte is no longer a commit to OSU and doesn't list them anymore? Any info out there?

I believe OSU has 4 commits for 3 roster spots, but I thought Adam Wing was going to be the odd man out, not Forte.

Rivals and ESPN still list all 4 guys as committed.

That's weird, I just looked at Rivals and it has 3 which is why I asked about Forte.......

I don't pretend to be a recruiting expert. I could be way off in my assessment.

Wing's scholarship has likely been pulled according to some stuff to come out of the some Kentucky papers. That or Ford wants him to go to prep school and reclassify at a 2013 kid.

Same old Travis (not that I blame him much for this one).

Exactly. I mean it's clear what went on here. Wing was a stretch for a Big 12 player and is known to be a shooter. Well, enter Forte who is a stretch to play in the Big 12 level of ball, and see ya Wing. No way Ford takes Forte's away and loses Smart.

Why any kid wants to play for Ford, who hasn't proven he can coach all that well, and yet he still sells how his team is fast paced. Maybe they buy this because he's short and played college ball?? His teams aren't fast paced and don't score (done with rant).

since smart wants to play with forte...i doubt that forte is decommitted

Funny how everyone bases that simply off of last year.

His last year at UMASS and first year at OSU are the best examples of his style. First year at OSU 5th in scoring per game (80.9) in the NCAA and 29th in possessions per game (73.6) just behind mizzu (73.7). Much slower the next two years, but he was adjusting to the team.

Nobody cares about those stats. What are they suppose to mean.

Why would his first year at OSU be the best example of his style? You'd think that after having several of his own recruiting classes that his recent years would show his coaching style.

I feel like his staff needs to do a better job of evaluating talent for their system. That would probably help them from dumping so many kids after a year or two at OSU. It will eventually catch up with them via the APR penalties or burning bridges with AAU hotbeds imo.

I agree, in Fords first few recruiting classed he just recruited the best player available, not the player that fit his system the best. On the other hand I can't complain to much about his recruiting as long as he keeps pulling in players like Nash and Smart.

When do you start complaining about being avg with these "great" recruits?

Because scoring and poss. per game indicate the pace of play. plus everyone uses mizzu as a prime example of a fast pace and osu was right next to them
in both stats.

His first year matters, because one of the main reasons he said he came to osu was that the talent was here to play his style, thus the stats that show it.

Moses was a big reason the pace slowed down, he wasn't a ford recruit.

When these "great" recruits step on the court, which none of them have yet. This is the first year that Ford has no excuses to have "his" team and a successful season.

Can they at least play a game before you call them a bust?

An OU fan calling out another team for recruiting busts is actually pretty funny.

LOL true...had our own share lately.

Word on the streets is they are trying to unload Speedy Guerrero. He's not working out.

To be honest, I'm surprised by that news. Guerrero's cocky, me-first style worried me some. But I really thought he would work out just fine, with the right coach to reign him in when he got out of control.

Could it be that Travis sees too much of himself in the kid? Just sayin'...

idk. I hear that's why they went after Forte in the first place to go along with Smart. They are also recruiting pgs in 2013 as well. I guess he just doesn't want to buy in and is doing the worst in workouts.
