Dominic Woodson Visits Baylor, Oklahoma Up Next >>> ZagsBlog

I thought it was interesting that Woodson's AAU coach said they'll have a need for big men next season. I guess they full expect Gathers and Austin to both bolt after this season.

Austin yes. Gathers...it would prob be a mistake. If he thinks Baylor will need bigs next year, wait until he visits OU. Woodson would have a great chance at starting in the post from day1. We also have a nice set of guards who will be at OU during his whole tenure.

Man, I hope Woodson picks the Sooners! From everything I've seen on video, he has an off the charts upside. He's the #1 big on my wish list. Doesn't mean that I don't want Randle, I just believe our best shot is with Woodson. If OU gets both of these kids? Well, I may not be able to stand it!

Thanks for the update, BT!

Evan Daniels from Scout just reported that he is down to N.C. State and Baylor. Sooo......yeah.

This sucks! I hate being the last school to get a visit!!! Especially in b-ball. Seems like most kids commit to either the 1st or 2nd school they visit.

I really thought it would be an awesome enviroment this weekend and a great time to bring in Randle and Woodson. If he has us in the top 3 just a week ago, I wonder what has changed for him to drop OU especially since he hasn't even visited yet??

I did some digging on this one and it appears that OU and Woodson mutally parted ways and thus the visit cancellation.

He's a major project from what I have seen. Ada- why do you like him so much?

I don't think Gathers goes pro. He's pretty raw. Very strong but his shot is wild and he's not a guy with a long wingspan which will have pros questioning his position in the NBA. He's probably a 3 to 4-year type. He comes from a good situation at home and he's a really good student. So I don't think the typical pressures of money and hating school will be there to drive him to that kind of decision.

Austin is one and done most likely.

Name me a big guy that's not a project. Even Austin who you say is one and done is a project. The thing about Woodson is even though he's a project you have 4 years to work with him.

I'll put it another way, his effort is a work in progress. Think Renardo Sidney.

It sucks we can't even get him here on a visit when we were only a week away. Huge loss! Most likely would have started from day 1. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we don't get Randle(its a long shot), can anyone actually be happy with this recruiting class if Randle chooses us(which most likely will happen)? Woodard is our best recruit and he's not even the best player in our state.

Kruger can coach...but he needs to get an assistant that can recruit. I just don't get how in 3 years, we can't land one consensus top 100 player. I know Buddy Hield cracked rivals top 100...but he couldn't crack Scouts or Espn's.

Three years?

DFW, I saw a multi-talented kid in the videos I watched with a huge upside. He didn't move he was 6' 9" 290 or so. He has a ways to go to be a finished product. But he clearly has a variety of skills and a lot to work with for the right coach.

Woodson's biggest challenge may be in keeping his weight down and getting in shape to compete at the college level. He was listed at over 300 pounds on one site I visited, which tells me that these are not new issues with him. Still, I would love to see him at OU. But from what BigTime has said above, there may be other issues I'm not aware of.
