Derryck Thornton is transferring. Averaged 7.1 points 2.6 assist per game. 5 Star recruit.

Thornton is not an option for OU. He's leaving Duke to be closer to his home in California:

“I have loved my time at Duke, but I want to pursue the opportunity to play college basketball closer to home,” said Thornton, who leaves in good academic standing and expects to sign on with another Division I program. “I want to thank my teammates and coaches for their support this year. The relationships I have with them will always be special to me.”

Oklahoma is much closer to California than North Carolina is!

Exactly...remember Calvin Newell transferred out because he wanted to be closer to home but ended up in Florida. He was from Philly. I don't think UCF is closer to Philly than OU and if so it's not by much. :ez-laugh:

According to the kid's dad, after Coach K got him to reclassify and skip his senior season, he is now pulling a Saban and running him off to make room for Marques Bolden.

Frank Jackson is the problem...Thornton got recruited over and he knows it.

Maybe. Saban does this all the time, it's not a stretch at all to think Coach K would do it at all. You don't reach the top of the totem pole in any industry without being a ruthless SOB.

they had plenty of room for bolden either way .. this kid didn't' want duke to bring in another PG ..

This.

And Bolden isn't very smart if he wants to be a one-and-done, and goes to Duke.

Giles > Bolden
