Expectations for next year?

NIT would be a good thing to shoot for but you can expect an OU return to the NCAA's in two years. Kruger's track record proves it!

Time to change your sig line SoonerDan; we have reason to be hopeful again :D

We were a NIT bubble team next year with Capel, We are a NIT bubble team with Kruger

Hire is about longterm health

If we are competitive in the Big 12 (-2), regardless of where that puts the Sooners in the postseason, I will be happy.

Osby will be the newcomer of the year and we should dance.

The other teams are losing quite a bit and TT and MU are going to a new system.

I hope I don't get caught up in the usual overly optimistic preseason analysis. If Osby is really good and if we sign a point this spring that shows us he is an upgrade and if we avoid key injuries then we will dance next March.

:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

I'd like to see us play good defense, and consistently execute offensive sets. That alone would be a vast improvement.

Someone should post stats on Kruger's first seasons in turn-around-the-program mode...to sort of give us a very rough benchmark on what to expect.

Sam, I'm looking at you.

First year at KSU

20-11

Previous 4 years at KSU they won 16, 14, 14, 12 one winning record

+4

First year at Florida
11-17 the next year he went 19-14

They went 7-21 the year before he got there.

+4

Illinois
22-10 the previous year they went 18-13

+4

UNLV
17 wins

They won 18 games the year before with 2 coaches. Spoonhour left mid season the year before.

-1

But he built that program to it's best level in almost 20 years.

couple of more wins than this year and first round exit out of the big 12 tourney.

It's hard to form a true gauge by this type of study without knowing things like: How many players remained, and what was there level of experience? How many recruits of his own did he get to sign the first yr? Did the outgoing coach have any recruits signed? Etc, etc......

We could have went 7-9 in conference this year. Getting a few extra wins with everything coming back is not that big of a jump

"Everything coming back"? Hardly.

Mr. Classy continues to denigrate Cade Davis, OU's 2010 MVP.

We don't exactly have good guard play coming back. Cade was great, Pledger is the closest thing we have to him. And he's probably similar to Cade early on. Shoots far too many 3s and isn't aggressive enough consistently. So he could get better. But still outside of him we don't have a lot at guard right now.

.500 in conference; host an NIT home game or be on the bubble i'd say are reasonable _goals_ for this bunch in year one.

I am sorry...does someone REALLY think that you can look at his other teams to see what kind of improvement to expect?

Honestly?

For some reason that strikes me as impossible to ascertain. Too many variables. Literally thousands.
