Miami would have destroyed our line to a laughable degree. We wouldn’t have been able to move the ball against them at all.
Ole Miss led for virtually the entire game on our home field and we had Kiffin to think for a couple boneheaded decisions for making it a game.
We couldn’t come within one score of the worst P4 team in the bracket on our home field.
Funny that with your self-proclaimed knowledge of advanced numbers, you’d make such a baseless argument. The objective articles before the playoff noted that our offense was far and away the biggest weakness among the P4 teams in the field … using advanced stats.
I hope and trust that our GM and coach realize we were much closer to not making the field than we were to being a title contender.
We wouldn't have needed to, as anybody with half a brain cell can see we would have eaten Beck alive. Beck ended the game with 103 total passing yards against an A&M defense that was worse than ours, and they had 3 points leading into the final 2 minutes. Pretty hard to not be competitive when then other team only scores 3. He did a little bit better with 138 yards and a 17 total points against Ohio State...but that's still not much to write home about.
But yeah, we would never have had a chance against a team that lost to SMU and Louisville. Excellent analysis.
We had a lead in the 4th quarter and the game came down to the final possession, so the debate about whether we could play a competitive game against was already solved on the field. Arguing that Ole Miss was held back by having one of the best playcallers in the country, who was the only playcaller to get the upper hand on BV in the regular season, is hilariously desperate. I bet you think being in a brace a few weeks post-op gave Mateer super-powers as well.
I've never claimed to be an expert on advanced stats. Just that you're clueless, which this posts further supports. And we really didn't need further proof.

Has Mateer had his thumb reattached yet? I hope it is healed by 2028 when he is lighting up the NFL.
We lost three of the four toughest games we played. We won one game all season against a team likely to finish in the top 25. Perhaps two, if Michigan barely stays in the rankings. It’s laughable to suggest we were on the same level as three of the semifinalists.
Carson Beck has thrown 25 touchdowns and 10 picks. Lowtier threw 14 and 11. Beck’s quarterback rating is 37 points higher and he throws for 20 more yards per game. He was at best the third best quarterback of the semifinalists, yet he is significantly better than our guy. However much he would theoretically struggle against our defense, Beck would be the best quarterback on the field if we played them.
It's truly hilarious how bad you are with numbers. The difference in QBR was 16, which is a large difference, but not even on the same planet as 37, and it's not accounting for injury. Maybe that's why you think Ole Miss beat us by 45 in your head.
As for the notion that we couldn't beat a team if the other QB has a higher season QBR, you are once again wrong, as Simpson, Aguilar, Underwood, and Pribula all had higher QBRs for the season.
I don’t typically care once we’re out. But I hate Miami from way back and really want Indiana to complete their fantastic season. I went to the Orange Bowl game when we lost the NC to Miami (Jimmy was their coach) on their home field. Now they are on their home field again. Indiana is solid but you never know what can happen in one game.

Lying comes so naturally to you. I guess that’s impressive.
Sandell is returning, so not sure how that's a lie.
I would say that stating Beck's QBR as 37 points higher when it was 16 was a lie, but lies imply intent, and I think you just simply can't handle basic numbers.

Yea something tells me he will do very well there. And Arch with some really good talent at the skill positions will be tough. Not sure how they look on the line but they have a really good foundation at the skill positions.

They will get talent there, no doubt. Thinking otherwise is just foolish. OU has done well in the portal, but UT was big game hunting. OU wasn't.

Yea and knowing they have an edge on us at QB, RB, and arguably WR, is frustrating. We had a terrible offense and will go into next year without having upgraded at QB or RB. I like the first two WRs we added, but then again, the same media people hyping them were over the moon about Burks and he wasn’t exactly special.
