Football question

While I'm not shedding tears that DeMarco has moved on, I'm not sure how much blame he gets for Tatum. I know he was a 5*, but I can think of a boatload of them who never did squat at OU. One class (2008 I believe) we had THREE 5* players and only one finished at OU and none of the three were drafted in the NFL. 0-3: DE R.J. Washington, RB Jermie Calhoun and OG Stephen Good. These things happen...but if helping develop Eric Gray is what got him a promotion to the NFL, then I want to read his book on how to ace an interview.

so you don't blame dm for tatum being a bad rb.
does dm deserve any blame for recruiting a bad rb?

The same RB that every team in the country recruited, including the oft mentioned Lincoln Riley?

I would challenge you to think of a team that you think has great RB development. Then go look at their HS RB recruiting and see how many were hits. I promise you it's closer to Shohei's batting average than 100%.

i mean likely the entire time his son is at OU .. so for the next 4 or 5 years ..
If he doesn’t move up to OC quickly, he will likely be given that opportunity elsewhere. My opinion, he will be a fast riser. I don’t think he will be a TE coach for the next 5 years.

Good chance he will get a lot of job offers after next season for obvious reasons

Yeah Gray ran for almost 800 yards in only nine games on just under 5 YPC as a sophomore in the SEC. It’s wild for anyone to suggest that he was a plucky underdog who turned into a good back because of Murray. The fact he hasn’t had a noteworthy pro career in no way means he wasn’t already a very good and complete college back before he transferred to OU.
