Is that a hint?
I said last Friday when they weren’t on the report that it makes me think they aren’t playing this year. The wording of the policy indicates you don’t have to list guys who aren’t expected to participate in games, e.g., redshirt.

Very small chance to beat Auburn, Florida, A&M on the road. That leaves 5 road games with a little better chance but still not great. I don’t think @UGA is a must win but I do believe this game at home against A&M is. @UGA would be a nice-to-have but if we can win 1 or 2 of those 5 road games and only lose 1 or 2 games at home I will be elated. Asking a lot but lose tomorrow and I will have little hope we get even 6 more wins.

It seems like that's not technically correct. From the following tweet and point of clarification, it appears that they weren't listed because they have redshirted and haven't played so far, not because they are planning to redshirt or not play the entire season.

From Tom Green when the report came out last Friday: "An important clarification from SEC associate commissioner: The availability report only applies to players who have already appeared in a game this season. So, Jones and Nwankwo are exempt from appearing on it until they see the court this year."

It’s very confusing. I asked a reporter specially about players like JN and Jones and he thought they should be listed if they plan on playing this year. I don’t know why college sports is so stupid about everything. If the intent is to try to minimize concerns about inside info/gambling, just list everyone who is injured.

I haven’t really watched A&M, but they clearly hang their hat on rebounding and defense. They aren’t particularly good at anything offensively, but their D is outstanding and they absolutely pound the glass. This team is proof that you don’t need a ton of size to be a great rebounding team. They have one guy taller than 6-8 who plays.

Moser spoke today about how the Aggies always have five guys going to the boards. We … don’t lol. In our last game, Luke had no boards in 14 mins. Goodine and Elvis combined for 2 in 52 mins. Miles had 2 in 29. Taylor only had 2. With his size, he needs to be a more effective rebounder.

I just don’t know how we survive this league with our situation in the middle. Sam should be a backup, and the two guys behind him kill us. Luke doesn’t rebound at all, and struggles to defend anyone with even decent speed or quickness. Wague plays less than three mins a game against power conference teams. I’ve wondered if we should go small but if a guy like Taylor isn’t rebounding more, that’s an issue. It’s too bad Cole appears to be a complete miss. Unless something changes quickly with him, we will have essentially gotten nothing out of the 2023 high school recruiting class.

that reporter was not correct

i view this game a pretty much a must win. Is it really? No but man PM has never been able to capitalize on success. If we lose this game, i can see the fans support start to crumble again. Stinks that the students aren't back yet

Basically i agree with soonerbounce. Feels like a must win but don’t think it really is. W/o Taylor and being at home will make losing this game a real disappointment.

Key for me is for coach not to read their offensive stats before making a gameplan. If you don’t guard their shooters and contest perimeter shots they will make them.

On perimeter shots more often than not the ball comes off the rim long. Alabama kids always followed their shot and often got their own miss. Guards can’t release early on 3s and keep between the shooter and basket, then rebound down

My reading and understanding is similar to wichita’s on whether jones and jeff have to be on the availability list. Hope we are reading that wrong

Our biggest concern is in the front court so i am not sure how much of a difference they would make against some teams. Probably wouldn’t hurt. Like i have said before, i view jones as a good player. He is taller and longer than the other guards and at a minimum would give you some options outside
