--Game Day-- 7:30 FoxSports OU vs UTRGV

Manek with a three and a double double now. He has scored five points since I said he had all but disappeared. :ez-laugh:

Looks like we will survive the night, team has plenty of work to do. James was good, Doolittle was all but a no show tonight

Kinda junk ball the last 10 minutes or so. But solid looking team after one game.

Harsh assessment. I don't believe the Vaqueros were within single-digits the last 21 minutes. This was a very nice win. Hardly a survival.

7 points in 13 mins. Foul trouble happens.

That last 10min was tough to watch! Manek looks like more of a complete player...will be our leading re-bounder I think! It was weird I thought that Odomes didn't seem to play much, Reynolds I just think is a hustle guy, but not super skilled. Played the FR guard quite a bit..like the way he looks. Calixte may be my favorite guy on the team! He just seems like a leader/dog... I like how he attacks and changes his pace. James was good, but he will take about 5 dumb shots a game like always.

James not scoring in that scrimmage...... I was.... not worried

Like what I saw. Sloppy late. Could’ve held them to 60ish with a tad more focus late

I would say James was better than “good.” He also had help. Manek with a double double, 12 points and 12 boards, 2 blocks and a steal. Muni was one point shy of a double double with 9 and 12. Calixte, the point guard who couldn’t score finished with 15 points, while shooting 3 of 4 from three.

Not a bad performance if you don’t see this win as a “survival,” and you don’t ignore the other players who had good games.

Really nice win

Saw some good passes by McNeace

Manek needs to ditch the Bird bit until he can shoot FTs

Defensive effort looked different from last year

CJ monster night, he knew he was at 29 and gagged on last FT

Great game flow in the first half, and a ragged whistle-fest in 2nd
McNeace tech???

I didn’t like Doolittle’s body language

Looks like they like Reynolds as a closer. Great ability to get to line and convert

Calixte as advertised!

We’ve got a bunch of body language experts. Clearly Doolittle was frustrated. Fouls out in 13 mins.
Cut the guy some slack. He he plays starter mins 26-30 mins he may score 18-20.

Overall I thought we were pretty good.

Nice win but really pathetic they opened the season at UT Rio Grand Valley... Thought this was a top 20 program? That would be like the football team opening next season against the Mississippi State Delta Devils on the road..

Stats look pretty good. They made the same amount of shots as OU did, but OU hit 22 free throws and they hit 9, which was really the difference in the game.. Rebounding margin was too close for an opponent like this as well. 43-37 advantage.

Could be a little bit of fools gold here, but we should know a lot more after they play UTSA on the road... again, wtf is up with this schedule? Really bad.

I don't understand when you say "Calixte, the point guard who couldn’t score finished with 15 points, while shooting 3 of 4 from three."

Confidence is the goal right now with lots of positives except for KD, but it's a process. We won't really know much till Thanksgiving and even then it's still early. .

Lon did that as a solid to Lew Hill.

Lon did that as a solid to Lew Hill.

And Lon was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame the night before. He started his coaching career there. It was a classy thing to do but some people, who shall remain nameless, don't understand that type of thing.
