Anyone have tiny violin I can play for him? :D

UConn is the only founding member of the conference still in the Big East and the only original member left in the conference that has a FBS football program.

Auriemma told the newspaper, "I hope they all leave tomorrow." He acknowledged that would be impossible because the Big East has to play out the 2012-13 schedule.

"But as soon as it's over, let them go and do what they need to do, just like Syracuse, Pittsburgh and West Virginia did. West Virginia did it the right way. They said they didn't want to be in the Big East any more and said, 'See you later, I'm out of here,' " he told the newspaper. "I hope they all take that approach."

The Conn has one thing that they can hope for: B1G or ACC expansion, which will likely only happen if there Big 12 or SEC poaching of either. Since I don't see us dragging Nebraska back kicking and screaming (as fun as that would be), I could see the Big 12 trying to get some ACC'ers to join West Virginia out east in the Big 12.

Otherwise, medium-to-small sized fish in drought-stricken pond :D

I think UConn's only chance is to land in the ACC and they were pretty much begging for that last year, if I remember correctly. It could potentially hurt the UConn basketball programs down the line if they are stuck in the Big Least.

Their sliver of hope in getting into the ACC is either SEC/Big 12 poaching, opening up a spot for them, or, if my math is correct, the fact that ACC will have 15 teams in non-football (14 in football, cuz Notre Dame is lame) and would probably prefer an even number.

Frankly, I see South Florida (located in Tampa) getting an ACC invite ahead of The Conn, if FSU and Miami don't veto it
