Re: Giovanni McLean Update

And there it is:

@BPrzybylo: Just talked with NEW #Sooners juco PG commit Gio McLean (@Young_Bull4). Pumped to join #OU, will sign papers next week

...

@BPrzybylo: Gio McLean was hosted by Isaiah Cousins. New York connection in full effect for #SoonersGio McLean was hosted by Isaiah Cousins. New York connection in full effect for #Sooners

I love his attitude, one of his friends tweeted him about Kentucky winning it all with the Harrison twins back and he said "Stop it Bro. OU doing that"

I loved his video at Rucker Park. Gio isn't just a fill-in. I think he an make a difference. He already has a better perimeter game than Woodard. I have no idea how well he can run an offense but his juco numbers of over 7 assists a game indicates he is more than capable.

This was a good signing.

I too think he is a really good get. However, considering his back ground, he may not have ever played much defense.

Dude, did Woodard run over your dog or something?

Woodard is going to start next year, barring injury or some unseen attitude problem. You act like Gio averaged 30 per game in JUCO. He didn't. I like him, think he is a nice get, but to suggest he is more than a backup that will fill a role? From a street-ball game at Rucker Park? Come on.

You are probably right. But, I would bet money that Woodard isn't as sure of that today as you are.

Again, based on what? Woodard was up and down from three this year, but he still finished the year at a VERY respectable 37%.

The year before, as freshmen, here is what our three guards did:

Hornbeak - 33%
Cousins - 25%
Hield - 24%

Booker, the guy that was brought in as a shooter this year, only shot 36.8%. Almost identical to Woodard.

Eligibility could be a snag.. 1 or 2 yrs. he bounced around schools.

Not sure until he plays whether I want 1 or 2 yrs.. Lol
