Great win by Duke/K/Capel

Here we go...

the foul calls I won't speak to that is all subjective .... but the out of bounds replay was clearly off duke ... and I don't know how you miss the winslow stepping out of bounds ..

those are 2 huge non subjective missed calls ..

Surprised they didn't overturn the call, from my couch on CBS, it looked apparent it was off Winslow.

When Winslow stepped out, Nigel Hays body bumped him, so Wisconsin got away with a foul there where Duke would have been shooting. Maybe the basketball Gods tried to right the play.

Bottom line last night, Wisconsin was up 9, had Duke on the ropes and folded like a lawn chair. Kaminsky was the only key cog who showed up, Dekker was atrocious and probably single handily cost them the game. Okafor/Winslow only played 54/80 minutes and Wisconsin couldn't capitalize...even the commentators were discussing how passive the Badgers were when both went to the bench at the end of the 1st half.

Wisconsin's upperclassmen got outplayed by the freshmen.

really surprised me that they didn't go to decker in the post ... he abused booker in the post in the uk game ..and he had a guard on him most of the night

I love this picture.... refs are pulling the pile apart while an OU player is standing there holding the ball.

That's how obviously bad this call was in the Duke game.

That foul rarely ever gets called...I never have understood why, but it's just not.

Perfect example of how poorly coached Stoops teams are. lol Walks away with the ball instead of handing it to the ref. Oregon is awarded the ball and we lose.

A Capel coached team would have never made that mistake...lol.

They would have been pasted and plays like this would have no signifigance. :facepalm

Umm ... A Capel coached & recruited team won the national championship last night. lol

While we're at it name the time Capel was upset by a worse seeded team in the NCAA tournament. Sampson did it virtually every year and Kruger has done it both times. Capel? Never.

Name the time Capel was beaten by 30 points in an NCAA tournament game? :facepalm

Name the time Capel didn't make post-season play. :facepalm

It'd rather make the tourney and get upset, than not make the tourney at all. Wanna compare Kelvin and Capel that way?

how do people keep falling for your troll jobs? This is the worst one yet

I didn't miss it. I clearly mentioned it. And I also said that I thought the ball that went out of bounds was off Winslow. I thought so at the time. But I also couldn't tell definitively from the replays. If they had given it to Wisconsin, I don't think theyes could've overturned that either.

My point wasn't that there weren't bad calls. There were and always are. But the notion that Duke won because of the refs is simply patently absurd. Those who complain about those 1 or 2 calls that went Duke's way, I'm sure, would have also flayed me Saturday if I had shown up here blaming the refs for Kentucky losing on that missed shot clock call.

Referees' calls matter and they made some mistakes in Duke's favor but they also made mistakes in Wisconsin's favor and none one here will mention that.

Most importantly, it's OK to discuss bad calls. It's unreasonable, however, for us to expect them to be perfect. They're not. They're human and the game is really fast. The 1 ref shouldve gotten the call right when Winslow stepped on the baseline but he missed it. I'm not so cynical as to believe he did it intentionally so that Duke would win and I just don't believe, with how well Duke played down the stretch, that it's the reason Duke won.

They were huge down the stretch, outplayed Wisconsin, and deserved to win.

Well coached players make mistakes. God knows that OU players made more than their share when Capel was coaching them.

Your second point is the huge flaw in Boca's argument. It would be difficult for Jeff Capel to lose to lower-seeded teams when his teams were usually not good enough to go Dancing.

As for your first argument, I would much rather win the 6/11 game and get pasted by 30 in the next round than lose the 6/11 game and not get to play in the next round.

just an fyi .. but it was reported yesterday that the refs did NOT see the best angle of the reviewed out of bounds play during review .... that is inexcusable ... but also explains why duke got the ball

that is just so unacceptable. How does that happen?

My question would be...how can this issue still occur in this day and age of replay. Another question would be, why in the hell is the on court official reviewing the play, and lastly, why are they using a "10" black and white" to review plays?
