to get to the tourney?

I think 18-19 wins next year and at least the NIT.

After that he better have us back in the dance.

I'll say 4 years, because in 3 years we're losing like 6 guys. Though due to that I'd like to see us in the tourney for the 2012-13 season...but that's not really a reasonable expectation IMO.

Depends on what happens. If we keep having recruiting classes that basically do nothing like we have under Capel it won't be that long a leash.

If we try hard I bet we can have more coaches in a ten year span than we did for the previous 30.

Colorado went from a losing season in 2009-10 to 21 wins this season and just missing the tourney in one year with their new coach. We should be able to at least do that with the right coach.

BCG would have OU back in the tournament in a minimum of two years and next year possibly

I want to go to the tourney every year no doubt. However, that is not everything. The coach and team need to have an identity that fans will enjoy and show up for. To me, that has been the missing piece and is another reason JC did not get another year.

I agree if next year we just show an identity. Be it hard nosed defense and rebounding, or run up and down the court. Even if we don't have that great a record, that's a good start. I don't expect 20 wins because of the talent left by Capel, no recruiting class at all. Look at what Sampson left without that we don't go to the Elite 8 even with Blake Griffin. We won't have near the talent we had back then.

Joe C wouldn't spend 3 million bucks to send Jeff packing if he thought it would take 3 years to get back to the dance.

The next coach needs to have established contacts in the region and be willing to look at a juco or transfer to get us kick started. Pulling a commit from a team who fired their coach (arkie) would be nice too.

Colorado has way more talent though and likely a lottery pick
