"I thought we let the fact that we didn’t score as well in the second half really affect our defense"
-Capel

"They knew the stuff that we were running, were jumping plays and stuff. "
-Capel

"We were just kind of rolling around out there"
-Capel

So, A&M knew everything you were going to try to do, destroyed you, and you didnt think to change something up? Like many Capel quotes, he doesn't really inspire much confidence, lol.

I really don't know what he CAN say. This is a sad situation.

He played his hand really early with utilizing the 1-3-1. As soon as A&M seen the 1-3-1, they changed their offense. Defensively, OU is just not hard to defend. You don't have to worry about a dribble drive guy and you just have to tightly cover one shooter.

Ou is not hard to defend .. I'm sure they script a lot of plays to get Cade open which is sad when that's your option.. Although Clark is athletic he reminds me of Tony crocker bc of his inability to score on the bounce. And yes abd it is hard for teams to get fired up on defense when the ball doesn't go through the hoop

This is off topic (but it's about Capel slamming which is apparently always on topic) - remember when Jason Whitlock wrote Capel couldn't coach a few years back? I've grown to love Whitlock's columns and twitter feed more and more over the past year or so. Seems like he may have nailed a truth on the head that we just didn't want to see at the time. That was a pretty bold thing to say under the circumstances and he got slammed by quite a few people nationwide. At this point no one would even bat an eyelash if he said it.

Dem Coltz, I don't remember that article but I am going to try to find it. Is this what you were talking about? Here is part of the article, actually found it in on this site.

8. If you're looking for a tournament fraud, take a gander at the 27-4 Oklahoma Sooners.

Oh, they're talented. Blake Griffin is the nation's best player. Shooting guard Willie Warren is the nation's most talented freshman scorer. I love Tony Crocker and Austin Johnson's experience and athleticism. Taylor Griffin is a nice role player.

Jeff Capel simply cannot coach. That Coach K tree produces some rotten fruit.

Oklahoma does not have an offense. The Sooners do nothing to free Griffin in the low post. He gets his points off talent and nothing else. Capel's offense does not require Warren to move without the basketball. Warren is a compact version of Glenn Robinson. We can only hope Warren doesn't waste his skills like a Big Dog.

A second-round foe with a good coach and two shooters will send the Sooners home early.

It's amazing how much of that has become proven correct. We basically have no offense.

And he can seem to get any real basketball players on campus.

It was just a snippet in a tourney preview back before the start of the 2009 tournament. Here is the text of what he wrote:
